I having it under sedation, but not a general, and go home the same day. How were you the following day in terms of pain, tiredness, walking around etc?

I've had 6 egg retrievals (one DS, trying for a sibling) and have had variable reactions - mostly I've been a bit tender (like period pain) but a couple of times I've had nasty cramps. Every time I've been bloated, the trumping afterwards was always excessive, lucky for DH we have a spare room! Grin

Walking around has always been fine bar once - at Kings they use a very outdated sedation method (midazolam) which caused severe bradycardia and high temperature on me. I was quite unwell afterwards. However, at Guys they've always used propofol and e-fentanyl and I've had no issues.

I was a bit tender after but could move around and look after myself. I did book the day after off work because I didn't know how I would feel after but I could have worked if I needed to.

I was most preoccupied waiting for the call from the clinic to tell me how my embryos were doing.

Thanks for everyone experiences. Pending which day they pick next week, I'll either have a food delivery coming, or need to get to another hospital for a completely unrelated appointment for my knee. I've already moved the appointment once and to change will likely be another 2mths! It might be the same day at the retrieval though, so may not have a choice in having to move it anyways!

I felt fine and actually drove myself home from all of them (but naughty I know!)

I was absolutely fine, didn’t feel any pain afterwards (had my ec under a deep sedation at Guys)..took a train home few hours later and was at work next day.

I felt fine afterwards, a bit sore and bloated but I was at risk of OHSS so could have been worse for me. I had 33 eggs collected, before the egg collection I was really uncomfortable and had shooting pains down my thighs as soon as they were out it was a relief!!!

@ChaiTea1- 33 eggs- whow! I'm having a scan today, but on last count only 1 ovary was responding well, and only have 6 follicles developing on the other. I know its quality, not quantity though. How did you get on?

Hi @Elouera

I had my ec on Monday and was really uncomfortable for a few days after but think it's been mainly bloating and trapped wind. Windeze tablets and peppermint tea are the only things that have helped and thankfully I'm feeling much better today! It might be worth stocking up! Good luck xx

22 fertilised but they froze the best 10 quality embryos. I’m with ABC so they’re all about the quality!

Sadly still hasn’t resulted in a baby. I’ve had 3 transfers (2 BFN and a miscarriage at 10weeks)

How did your scan go? xx

@ChaiTea1- thanks for asking. Scan today showed that the right side now has 3 follicles ranging from 12mm-16mm (the rest are smaller) and 6 on the left. I have to trigger tomorrow night (sat) so not sure I'll suddenly get more, or they'd get all that much bigger. Better than just 1 or 2 follicles though I guess.
