TTC but partner has delayed ejaculation

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has been through the same/similar situation...

I'm in a very happy, loving, honest relationship and decided we were ready to start TTC around two years ago, taking a very relaxed approach to it as my partner has what is called 'delayed ejaculation' (he cannot naturally ejaculate inside me as he can only climax by masturbating himself). We have managed 90% of the time to have sex and then he masturbates to the point of climax and quickly puts it inside of me but have had no success so far.

I will hold my hands up to say we could definitely 'try' harder but sometimes it can feel like a task not being able to have sex knowing the end result is just a given as it is for most couples.

It's not something I've discussed with friends/family, nor my partner to an extent, as I don't want to put too much pressure on him - has anyone successfully fallen pregnant this way?

Would he have any success by quitting masturbation altogether for a while? Sounds like he's damaged his sensitivity.

It's definitely something I think he would be willing to try, he has said he is going to make a conscious effort to masturbate less and have sex more!

Could you try having a look for advice on the insemination boards about home insemination. If he can ejaculate then you could get the kit to do your own insemination.

Yes, home insemination is actually something we have discussed briefly once and said it's a route we would both be happy to go down if we don't fall pregnant soon but haven't explored it too much yet as didn't really know where I started with it to be honest but will look into it a bit more!

Have a search on MN as there have been some threads about it recently and the kits people have used. These looked like fairly basic things purchased from Amazon etc.

I will have a look into it, thank you for all of your advice.

My DH has this, in his case caused by a medical circumcision as an older child which has caused reduced sensitivity. We did manage to conceive though. We just had to get a good technique going.
I know it can be very frustrating though.

It certainly is frustrating and some days can feel like you're never going to conceive. Thank you for sharing, it's very reassuring to know other people are/have experienced the same thing and successfully conceived this way also!
