IVF clinic recommendation

Hi,

We had our free NHS IVF cycle at St Guy's which failed. We don't have any more funding left and have to go private.
We don't have any fertility problems. We have been trying for a few years. Reason to not conceive is unexplained. The reason for IVF failure is unexplained too. 13 eggs were collected, 9 were mature, only 2 became embryos, but not good quality. transferred both on day 3 but no pregnancy.

Could you please let us know your recent experience with IVF, clinic recommendation, costs and anything that can help us, please?

We are thinking whether to go ahead at St guy's again or not.

We are also considering ARGC and ABC IVF clinics.
Do you have any experience of these?

A is already 36. I am turning 36 next month.

Thanks soo much

Sapna

I'm with Create which is the sister (more expensive!) clinic to ABC - they have a clinic at St Paul's

ABC is very good if you meet their fairly strict requirements - that's why they can offer it cheaper than most other places

Otherwise create doing short protocol is around £6.5k per round all in including ICSI and drugs

I'm nearly completing a natural modified cycle with them - 3 cycle package including ICSI and all drugs £13.5k. I had issues with egg quality and so decided to go with a lower drug regime and so far I've had much better quality embryos making it to day 5 (I can't transfer until after 3rd collection so freezing as we go)

I've heard ARGC is ridiculously expensive - think £20k+ per cycle and I known some people have paid more. But they do get results - but if you work it's a no go - you've practically got to take 6-8 weeks off work and stay by the clinic as it's daily scans and tests

Have you considered going abroad?
There seem to be better success stories coming from abroad clinics.
I also had a failed cycle at Guys with nothing to freeze but had a successful cycle with a clinic abroad.
I will strongly suggest researching abroad clinics.

We’ve been using ABC (the Wimbledon branch) and they've been really good. Because my egg collection got moved forward to a Sunday I had to go to Create’s clinic at St. Paul’s for EC and transfer and they were all lovely. All in we’ve spent about £4.5k. Their “basic” package is £2.5k plus £1k ICSI and £1k freezing. You have to “qualify” for their treatment and if you don’t you can look at create, their sister clinic, I Think the difference between the two is that ABC is nurse led and Create is consultant led. I assume that ABC follow a more “standard” protocol and Create might be more tailored but I don’t know that for a fact. I’m currently in the TWW with 1 blastocyst and I have 3 in the freezer.

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted - good luck with your treatment. Let us know how it goes.
Yes, ArGC sounds very expensive. We are looking at other options too.

@Heart2God - do you have a recommendation for clinic abroad?

@DobbieFreeElf - good luck with your treatment. Let us know the results.
As I have already had a failed cycle, I am worried if I will be ok with low med doses that ABC give. Do they give higher dose meds if they think you will need it?

I had a good experience at the Lister clinic. They spotted a problem that had been overlooked at another clinic and I had a successful outcome as a result.

We have been thinking of going with Care London and wanted to know your suggestions on this clinic. We have gone through HFEA site but would really appreciate your recommendations please.

We’ve always had our treatment at Bourn Hall Cambridge. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I’d also recommend the Lister. They were at the more expensive end of the scale when we used them but their results speak for themselves.
