NHS vs paid IVF experiences at same hospital or elsewhere?

If you had IVF on NHS then wanted to pay for further rounds, did you stay at the same hospital, or find somewhere else that was private? If in the same hospital, how did the care/treatment compare?

Had very poor treatment at an NHS hospital unit which also accepts private payers (although they call it ‘self funding’ - there is no ‘private’ treatment as such - the care and treatment is the same).

Gone to a completely different solely private clinic for round 2.

We had an awful experience at a local clinic for our nhs round. It’s like they set you up to fail. The clinic had a dreadful success rate and staff were cold, unprofessional and didn’t even wash their hands before scans etc. We only got 3 poor quality eggs and 1 weak embryo that didn’t stick. Needless to say we did a huge amount of research for our next round as we were paying for it. Ended up at the Lister in Chelsea which was such a different experience. They did proper pre-tests and discovered I had an under active thyroid so I was put on a light dose of Levothyroxine and my husband on proxeed to improve his sperm quality. We got 4 blasts and have a lovely 3 year old from that round so it pays to pick the right clinic :)
