Ivf March/April?

Hello,
Is anyone starting Ivf in March/April?
It would be nice to have some buddies.

I'm going for pre bloods and scans mid March, and expect to have egg retrieval around.

It's my first round, have been ttc for over a year and a half - unexplained infertility 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi Bunhead, I will probably be doing my one NHS round in April. My next appointment is in March. I was supposed to start last year but then my thyroid issues flared up and I've been waiting for things to settle since. I'm 40 so not really expecting much from this, but as I'm lucky enough to get a go on the NHS I might as well.

Hi think I will join you ladies. Due to start my first nhs round in March and will be on short protocol. Have injection training appointment on 9th march . We are MFI.

Hi Ladies. I think I'll be around the same time. I'll be on long protocol. Made even longer with having to go on the pill for a month before down regulation 😩 Just waiting for AF so I can book our drug teach appointment. It all seems so far off. Just want to get started now

Hmm I haven't even got that far with knowing what protocol I'm on (I'm assuming short due to my age). I'm at st Mary's in Manchester and they've been pretty on it though. I was called in almost immediately after my gynaecology referral a year ago, it's just a shame my body hasn't played ball.

Thanks for joining me here ladies!

@79andnotout that's rubbish you were delayed, fingers crossed for you all goes smoothly in April🤞

@MrsEminem sounds like we will be on a similar timeline. I think I am on short protocol, I don't think there's any reason why not!

@LC1983 I am the same, I just want to get on with it. I was supposed to wait a few more months and see if there was any clear out of pipes etc after hycosy, but I can't hack the waiting anymore so just got booked in.

We are having to pay for this round, we don't qualify for nhs for another year as we are unexplained (3 years you have to be trying, that feels insane!)
But at least if the first doesn't work then we will get another on the nhs.

Hiya. I'd love to join you ladies!

I'm starting in March. It will be my 5th Cycle and first FET. We have MFI.

@79andnotout I'm 40 too. Been trying for a few years with various outcomes (2 failures and 2 miscarriages) Somehow we managed to have an embryo good enough to freeze after Cycle 4 , so we'll be using that- It was my best Cycle since we started and I'd not long turned 40!). It will be nice to not have to go through an entire cycle again.

@bunhead34 - have you checked to make sure any private treatment doesn't rule you out of NHS treatment? It does in my area and my sisters area (both in England). Hopefully it doesn't but just thought I'd mention it!

@NRW39 sorry to hear about all the bad outcomes. My sister and my neighbour both got lucky on their 5th go though, fingers crossed for you! Did you get many eggs on the last round? My AMH was 12 last time they checked and my follicle count was 18 so I'm hoping I get a good few even if most of them are old and bad. However I have auto immune thyroid problems and a strong family history of thrombosis so even if I do get pregnant it's high risk for issues. Annoying as I am otherwise really fit and healthy so wasn't expecting all the bad fertility news when I started TTC three years ago. My little sister got the same raw deal. My father said he doesn't understand it as our mother was popping out babies like podding peas, and got pregnant if you shook your trouser leg at the end of the bed. Nice one dad! Grin

@79andnotout thank you. I hope to God/The Universe/ Whoever/ Whatever that this is going to be our year! x

Last Cycle was my best Cycle so far: I got 12 eggs. 9 mature. 8 Fertilized. 3 were great quality, 2 of those were transfered, the other was frozen. I got pregnant from my last Cycle, but unfortunately the baby stopped growing and I miscarried at 9 weeks, which was 3 weeks before Christmas. Horrendous.

That sounds like a great cycle @NRW39, that's really sad it ended that way, especially just before Christmas. I bet you were looking forward to telling people then. Have you had any blood tests to check for any miscarriage risk? I know the NHS usually only do them if you have three or more but I don't know if you checked privately. I will have to take low molecular weight heparin to prevent blood clots and prednisolone steroids to stop my immune response if I get pregnant as both of these each quadruple the miscarriage risk, apparently. Several of my friends with multiple failures are on a similar cocktail.

Hi everyone, I'd love to join you also. Should be starting round 2 in March. We have MFI but I also have endometriosis. Been trying 3+ years. Had several miscarriages and then TFMR at 16 weeks last November after first embryo transfer Sad. Praying this is our turn! Hoping for better quality embryos this time... But did everything 'right' last time, feels weird to do the same thing all again and hope for a different result. Good luck to all with this round, find these threads so supportive x

Hi laddies can I join. We have been provisionally booked in for end of March to start down regulating. We had hoped to start at the end of feb but there was no space😩I'm protocol 7 which is a long one.

@79andnotout. I'd told family and a few close girlfriends that I was pregnant, about 1 week after I got my positive. I don't regret telling so soon. It's been a long journey and I wanted them with me from the beginning through it all. They've all been a wonderful support.

That said, this time around I haven't told anyone that I'm even starting another cycle in March. I feel like I want to keep it to myself: not sure why. Maybe I'll change my mind closer to the time. In any case, I'll just do what feels right for me in the moment.

Tests aren't offered until 3 MC. I don't think I'd want any tests anyway.

Sending good vibes to you all x

@79andnotout yes we're allowed to do one private cycle and will still qualify for NHS. But if we do two we are out!
Although I'm wondering if we end up freezing any from the first round will be be allowed to have another go with that and still get nhs 🤷🏼‍♀️

@NRW39 sorry about the bad outcome last time, Christmas must have been tough ❤️

Have you guys told work you are doing Ivf? I think I will have to as they will likely want me to travel at the end of April which will
Likely be the TWW and I am going nowhere!
A bit worried tho as they already think
I'm shit (due to being distracted by all
Of this and my mad anxiety 😭)

@Mrsmch123 welcome, will this be your first go?

I was also hoping to get in in feb too,but no space!

Still secretly hoping I will get pregnant and won't need it tho, which is ridiculous at this point!

@bunhead34 thank you x

I didn't tell work a thing. For my first cycle I got a medical note and got signed off for 2 weeks stating 'gynecological procedure" to cover me for my retrieval, recovery and transfer.

I've not taken that much time off for my further cycles, as I felt it wasn't necessary. In truth I only needed about 5-7days in total, but I didnt know that at the time, so erred on the side of caution on cycle 1... do what's right for you. If you're not comfortable with sharing this news with your employer, then don't.

I don't think I mind telling my direct managers, should have a couple of weeks to decide so will think it over x

Evening all! I hope you dont mind if I join. I am starting DR 21st Feb on long protocol, so this group seems to make sense. I have had 1 cycle abandoned, 2 cycles EC no egss fertilised for transfer. Moved clinic, I cycle only 3 eggs collected I transfer BFN. I am starting this cycle long protocol different meds. This will be our last go as I'm now 42 and self funded.
I hope everyone is where they want to be right now. These threads are great for support.

Hi all, mind if I join you here? I think we will be having treatment around same time. @NRW39 and @79andnotout - I’m 40 too but will be 41 by the time I have ET. We have unexplained infertility, and were TTC for 3 years or so before #IVF. Fresh transfer resulted in an ectopic pregnancy (no risk factors, just unlucky 😕) and were in red lucky to have success with a FET 6 months later. Going for another FET starting downreg second week of March if Feb AF plays ball. Hopefully ET will be sometime in April. 🤞 for a lucky group. xx

Hello, how is everyone?
This was my second last cycle
Of natural trying before Ivf and I am out this month 😭
I'm not even bothering to 'try' this next month.

Hope everyone else is okay.

@bunhead34 same here, AF started today. But at least I now have a date to start down reg I guess..

AF arrived today for me too. Although for me it signifies the start of microgynon (super long protocol 🤦🏻‍♀️). Got to call the clinic tomorrow to book the nurses appointment for drugs teach but don't think down reg will start until beginning of April now 😩 Hopefully have a more detailed time frame at our next appointment 🤞🏼
