Congratulations for great outcome was this at GCRM . I am happy to take any advice you got in terms on what to eat what not , any other tips you think might help with the whole process
Trying to stay calm and stress free but it's not easier as people say it's always there at back of your head Hmm

Thank you! Yes our treatment was at GCRM. I thought the staff were all really lovely. I felt that they weren’t really into telling you the fine details of things unless you asked but if you want to know just ask. Do you have a date for starting treatment? Yes, try to keep stress to a minimum, the whole process is stressful enough. I was going really quite selfish around the time of treatment.....made excuses not to attend certain events i.e baby showers, as I just found things so hard.

In terms of diet/lifestyle, I found the staff at GCRM didn’t put a huge emphasis on the importance of particular diet or abstaining completely from alcohol. I wasn’t really strict with myself as I had a healthy BMI. I did eat lots of protein in the lead up to egg collection.

Hi, I've had some treatment there (egg freezing) and intend to return for ivf (purely because that's where eggs are!). I found I didn't get any dietary advice (apart from keep to general healthy diet/weight). I asked about supplements and was told by a Dr no evidence for them. I don't know if it would've been different if I was actually going through ivf there and then to be honest, I got the impression that I wasn't as important as I wasn't actively trying to get pregnant there and then. Also struggled to get information about what was seen on scans etc - I was told when I asked, but sure there would be things I didn't even know to ask!
Good luck, would be interested to hear about your experience!

Hello. This is where I am. Only had my 1st appointment. Got more in Feb/March due. Dr and nurse I saw were absolutely lovely when I went.

Hi all ,

I have already started my process and on to EC on Monday . The staff is lovely and as mentioned by some of you that they are not into giving out finer details until asked. Surprised despite paying all that money( self funded ) they don't tell you your information. I think may be they want you to stress out abt things that you don't understand much.

Also true that they are not keen on telling you about eating or not eating specific things feels sort of lack of guidance but I suppose whoever is going into process probably research enough with million things they might not feel the need to guide ( who knows )

So far so good just need prayers for support and keeping fingers crossed 🤞 x

Hi everyone. I'm heading to the open evening next week to start the ball rolling... so maybe a little behind in the stages you are at.

I'm currently on round 6 of letrozole so my final round... nothing yet but I am ovulating now so I see that as progress!

X

I had treatment there and found it to be really. Neither of my rounds there have been successful but found it a far less stressful treatment cycle than at ERI. Staff all friendly and caring and I found that they did explain things really well.

Thankyou Kirsty...it's convenient in terms of location and GRI isn't feasible because of the waiting lists and the backlogs..I wish you too all the best and hope you get your baby

@Suunflower03 Hi. We're lucky we've started treatment, but a cautious word of warning. GCRM are very busy now so waiting times to start treatment have increased just in case you think you'll start in the next month or two, that is now unfortunately not the case. X

Can any of you tell me whether the preliminary investigations and the consultation is within a package or it's seperate? I mean the package will be decided after the preliminary investigations and after the first consultation.Sorry to bother you all with my silly questions....

unknownscot · 25/10/2020 13:06

@Suunflower03 Afraid I can't help with that as we paid it all bit by bit x

We have our initial consultation/tests on Thursday. Any clue on the waiting times to start treatment? We were initially told it would be 8 weeks after our appointment. x

Report
Suunflower03 · 28/10/2020 00:56

I too am starting initial investigations next month...the timelines they have provided will take it 2 months minimum to start the treatment depending upon the type of treatment...

Report
unknownscot · 28/10/2020 08:32

@Suunflower03 @hjb2020
I would expect it to be longer we were just over 8 weeks at that was in May - I think waiting times have gone up since then.
