First thread is filling up fast so I thought I'd get a new one ready so we can keep on supporting each other through this crazy journey! Will post a link in old thread 😊xx

Wow, great, we hae a new home now! :) Thanks @Chooklass.
Called the clinic and they said if AF comes on Thursday they will scan me on Saturday so it falling over the weekend is not an issue that's good news at least. :)

Chooklass · 14/01/2020 17:16

That's good @Lily999 😊! They said they'll probably scan me on Sat this week since I'll be so close to EC. Must be fairly common for things to fall at the weekend.

Is anybody planning to add or remove anything from your diet after EC and ET? Or are you just carrying on as you were? I generally have quite a balanced diet, but I still worry I’m not eating the right things!

Report
Chooklass · 14/01/2020 18:55

I worry about that too @Feline123 but think it won't really make much difference at this stage? I'm avoiding caffeine and booze, drinking plenty water and just eating normally. I kind of sickened myself of clean eating fads in earlier days of TTC when gluten free/ yams/ whatever was going to be the thing that worked then didn't. Makes me miserable even thinking about those days!!

Thanks @Chooklass 😘

@Feline123 I am eating pretty healthily and off gluten, dairy and sugar and I think I will continue with it until I am pregnant and see a heartbeat on that scan just for my own peace of mind. It is totally rubbish though and I'm massively craving a Danish pastry 🤤

@Chooklass @Feline123
I have also been worrying about my diet! I am generally pretty healthy so don't think I will change it too much but I have read lots of conflicting information (as with a lot of the IVF stuff!) Think it I focus on it to much it will just stress me out! Xx

Hello all - just wanted to place mark on this new thread as we have been waiting for a funding decision since November and hoped to be on the January bus. Had baseline scan (so long since scan in investigations!) today and gave nurses consult at the very end of the month. Then going to be a game of can they get everything sorted to start in feb as af due in first week of feb or are we waiting till end of feb/start of March. Any experiences of having nurses appointment very close to af being due and being able to start quickly after? Know it's 'just' a few more weeks but ready to get going now! Hope everyone is doing ok, kind of took a break from last thread when we were waiting and waiting for a decision but things are progressing again now!

Yay! Thank you for the new thread! Feels good to be starting a new thread as we are finally starting injections tomorrow!

Can we maybe do an update on where everyone is?! I feel like I have lost track completely. (Mainly because I hid for 2 weeks while waiting for my period!)

Nmvasey · 14/01/2020 20:33

Hi @huffleclaw EC for me tomorrow morning. Excited and nervous all at the same tome
😬 nice to not have an injection today though. Woo hoo! great news that you can finally get started

Chooklass · 14/01/2020 20:33

Hi @huffleclaw - an update is a good idea! I'll start:

On day 6 stims (bemfola and ganirelix), first round of IVF or ICSI (depending on OHs sample on the day), hopefully EC Mon/ Tues 🤞

Good idea on the update as I'm not sure where everyone is at with being late to the group!
I'm on day 5 of injections (meriofert and fyremadel) is anyone else on these? I haven't heard of them before!
Got a progress scan on Friday so will have EC one day next week depending on how I'm getting on!
First cycle ICSI - excited but very anxious about the whole thing!

@Nmvasey tomorrow morning for me too. Feeling so nervous. I have mixed feelings about not injecting, first it is nice not to inject but I also feel like I am forgetting something and slightly less in control!

@granddesigns after our nurses appointment (they called it implications) I was due AF in 2 days and started from that cycle. I have been on long protocol so that meant waiting another 21 days before starting DR injections.

@unicornpuff I have a slight panic that they’ve disappeared or something because I’ve not injected 🙈 you can’t win can you ha 🤣 what time is your appointment?

@LBJ2410 I was taking meriofert but not the other you mention

Report
UnicornPuff · 14/01/2020 21:01

@Nmvasey I am due in at 7.15 and had my trigger at 8pm yesterday so should be around then. What about you? I have even been second guessing if 36 hours is too long and I will loose all my eggs! The tried and tested IVF method vs my complete irrationality!

Report
Nmvasey · 14/01/2020 21:03

@unicornpuff we need to be there for 10.15 for a 10.40 start. I like to think I’m quite chilled and very rationale but this process sends you a bit cray cray!

Report
granddesigns · 14/01/2020 21:27

Thanks @UnicornPuff - maybe still a chance! We are short protocol so may be tight but we will see once we get that first appointment out of the way!

Good luck to all further along the road than us!

@LBJ2410 I think Fyremadel is a brand of ganirelix? (Or vice versa) My syringe box has both names on. That one stings like a bitch 😂.

LBJ2410 · 14/01/2020 21:43

@Chooklass yes!! I thought I was just being dramatic 😂 it didn't hurt going in (making my husband do them!) but afterwards it really stung, much more than the other one. Oh the fun!

Where abouts are you based just out of interest? I'm at Manchester fertility

Chooklass · 14/01/2020 21:59

I'm based in Edinburgh @LBJ2410. I'm doing injections myself and am find the ganirelix a real challenge! One of my injection sites from a few days ago suddenly got itchy and a bit weepy tonight so I'm worried it's infected. Have slapped some savlon on and will see how it is tomorrow 🤞

LBJ2410 · 14/01/2020 22:04

@Chooklass yes mine have been a bit itchy.. hopefully yours will be okay tomorrow!
I've found my emotions are also all over the place too, laughing hysterically one minute then crying the next. I hope it doesn't get much worse over the next few days 🙈

jcurve · 14/01/2020 22:20

We did the trigger jab tonight with egg collection on Thursday morning. Still all feels quite surreal. I have total needle fatigue so just so pleased it’s over for a few days.

Someone on the last thread asked about how long to abstain before EC... my clinic asked us to do so tonight (so 36 hrs ahead).

Good luck to the ladies with egg collections this week. Fingers crossed you all get the eggs and embryos you need to move to the next step.
If it's any comfort at all, the sedation was been the best part of the process for me so far. Woke up feeling like I'd had best sleep I'd had in ages. Almost refreshed d so calm. Apart from a little cramping later that evening I felt much more comfortable after thw eggs were removed than before.
Bigs hugs to you all x

Thanks @Chooklass for the nice fresh thread 😊👌

So I'm on day 7 of stims with my first progress scan tomorrow. Not felt much tbh other than a couple of odd twinges here n there. Hoping that still means all is as it should be and the stims are doing their job. I guess I'll soon find out tomorrow!🤞🤞🤞

FlapJackered · 15/01/2020 06:57

@granddesigns glad to hear you have some progress, I hope the consultation goes well and you can get going with it soon. X

Good luck with EC @Nmvasey ! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@LBJ2410 mine were stinging and I told the consultant and she told me I wasn't going deep enough with the needle. Apparently you have to go all the way in with it, then press the plunger really slowly. I have now perfected it just as I finish them 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Bestofyou1982 that is very reassuring to know! X

@BaileyBadger4 good luck with the scan! 🤞🏻
