Anyone else with unexplained fertility near Brighton?

Hi All

I’m finding this journey quite difficult. At 34 I’m alone in my friendship group as someone with unexplained fertility and it’s tough not having any women to talk with about it all. I was wondering if anyone else is near Brighton and in the same boat? Thanks xx

Hi Marabouchoc
I’m not near Brighton otherwise would have liked to connect, but just wanted to post to say I have been feeling the same! I have recently connected with a couple of people on the Fertility Network as they have regional Facebook groups and found that a good way to meet new friends locally who get this part of my life X

Hiya Marabouchoc!

I'm in Brighton and happy to chat as i know just how crazy and lonely the fertility journey is. Especially when no one understands. I've also just moved here about 15 weeks ago, so having a friendly face to chat with would be wonderful for me, too.

My infertility wasn't unexplained, as such. I do have PCOS but it was very much under control, and i was ovuating/having periods and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I should have been getting pregnant and wasn't. Long story short, i was 7 years of treatment and it turned out it was my iron/ferritin levels. They were so low that my specialist said egg quality would have been poor and implantation was never going to happen. That wasn't discovered until 5 years in and after many frustrated tears of "why isn't my body doing what it should!"

I've had two loses since then and luckily i've also managed to have a little boy who is now 14 months. It's been a hell of a long road. A Soul-destroying one at times. The drugs, the poking and prodding, frustration, sadness....it's been worth it. But bloody hell, i'm knackered. lol

Anyway! Enough about me. Are you seeing a specialist? Is IVF or similar on the cards, do you think? Have Dr's offered up any explanation at all?

X
