Positive blood test but worried.

So I had positive blood test for pregnancy on the 2nd or jan. I’ve done loads of tests too and they are all positive. But yesterday and today I’ve had period pains. And my boobs arnt quite as sore as they was 😔 I’m so worried it’s all over already. Anyone else had this and still been pregnant ?

Yes.

Slightly firmer feeling breasts was my only early symptom (and equally that may have partly been due to the progesterone). Had an HCG of 450, by the time I had my HCG checked 2 days later this symptom seemed to have almost gone and I was convinced it was going to be bad news. It wasn’t and my HCG 48 hours later was almost 1500.

Period pains are often a normal symptom of early pregnancy.

If you’re really worried you could always have another HCG test to check it’s rising appropriately. But even if it is, it’ll probably only stop you worrying for a few hours and then you’ll be back to worrying again until your scan which will again temporarily stop you worrying for a few hours.

Thankyou for reply @EarlGreyT... Iknow silly thing to do but I’ve just done a test and it’s a strong positive but that will still happen won’t it? If my pregnancy has ended. I’m not sure hospital will do an other hcg test? I’m booked in for a scan on the 20th but that’s such a long way away 😔 xx

I got my BFP 28 Dec and I'm worrying that it hasn't worked, why I don't have symptoms, and generally what the flipping heck is going on.

I think the worrying is part of the 'normal' process of IVF and finally getting that elusive positive.

I'm trying to change my mindset by planning the nursery, what things I need to get, and nice things to do during pregnancy as I had pretty much lost my life whilst doing IVF.

Be strong hun, you've been on a battle to get this far and can do this 💪🏻

@FingersXssd83 the wait is horrible isn’t it. Congratulations on your positive result 😁 it’s just the best feeling isn’t it. But so bloody worrying, when do you go for your scan? I think the “not having any symptoms “ doesn’t help. Have you had any period like pains ?

I’m 9+6 and had cramps at the start. As long as they are rumblings rather than severe pain then it’s normal. The fretting doesn’t go away FYI so try and relax as much as possible, stress isn’t good for the pregnancy so try and distract yourself. Congratulations on the positives, when is your viability scan?

Thanks mine is just more like the “burning/aching feeling” Thankyou I’m trying my best to forget about it all. Saying that I’ve just gone out and bought more tests 🙈 so daft. My scan isn’t till the 20th, seems ages away 🙈

Well I’ve had a lovely day, all felt a bit crampy but I have noticed in the past it is wind/constipation but as everything is getting tighter in there I think the signals get mixed. Well, that’s exactly what my pains today were. Can’t wait until we get bigger!

Not through ivf but when I was pregnant with dd I was convinced my period was going to arrive at any moment for about a week as I had that pre-period cramp that just wouldn't go, so I just had no idea I was pregnant. Didn't have any other symptoms except tiredness for the first trimester, never had sore or larger boobs through the whole pregnancy.

@Stacey2007 had a few intermittent cramps but mostly in my back. Kept me awake/anxious last night. I'm 6 weeks today and was hoping for some break through symptoms to keep me optimistic. Scan is on the 16th, it's agony this! X

The 16th and 20th will seem a long way off but it will come. I was super nervous but didn’t need to be. Remember positive thoughts are good for bubba, stress is not. Wish you both well!

@FingersXssd83 your just ahead of me then, I hope you have a better night tonight, our minds are crazy and I think that doesn’t help with sleep or stress 😂.

@Jojo19834 I’ve been a nightmare. Done a test every night 🙈 i think I just still can’t believe it’s real 🙈 how did your first scan go? Is it a internal scan again? Thankyou ❤️

I've had cramps, twinges, sore boobs on and off. Had two good scans so far, currently 12+1. My nausea kicked in at around 6 weeks but not everyone gets it. Worrying is part of the deal unfortunately. I hope your scans come around quickly and everything goes well.

@Stacey2007 yes it is an internal, I was testing until I got my 3+ result and then did one a day before my scan just to check it hadn’t dropped. Was petrified of nothing being there but it was. Relief! All the panic and everything is normal but make time for happy thoughts as it makes for a happy baby!

How are you getting on @Stacey2007 I did two tests this morning, first response came up strong and straight away. Did a clear blue test as well and it said 3+ weeks so that's a relief. Still don't have any symptoms other than being a bit bloated. Scan's on Thursday, praying for a heartbeat 💗

Thanks hun will do! Have you got many symptoms @Stacey2007? It's the not having any that's sending me 😳 Think it's hard believing it will happen after struggling for so long. Hoping for a successful scan for us both 💕

Awh thanks @Stacey2007 We saw one strong heartbeat today, measuring right where it should be ❤️ I swear I could see the arm buds, was very cute! We were both very emotional. Was so lovely being discharged from the clinic. Need to call the GP tomorrow to book our 12 week scan 💕 Not long until you see your little one, let me know how you get on. I'll be thinking of you 😊 x x

OMG @Stacey2007 that is amazing! So happy for you, twin mama 😍😍

Hopefully you can relax into your pregnancy a little more now! I've felt so much better since my 7 week scan - didn't feel real before.

We have already been discharged so next stop is our midwife appointment on the 6th Feb. Woop 🙌🏻

Enjoy sweetheart 💕 xx
