IVF NHS journey

Hi,

My fertility specialist has said i have been accepted for IVF on the NHS and once my tubes have been removed at the end of January he will then put my referral through.

What are the next steps once he does the referral? What further questions will they ask? Is it as simple as passing eligibility with my specialist and being referred and then starting the process?

Thanks

I'm afraid it's totally dependent on the clinic and where you live. Is there an information session you could attend? Could you call the clinic?

I agree, it varies massively. The process was more straightforward than I had thought from reading others experiences (thankfully!) Although it did help as there are similarities. I attended the info evening too. In my case, consultant referred us and we did some blood tests (AMH & rubella immunity I think) and funding forms there and then. We did the consent forms online within a week (although I suspect there may be more to this yet to come). Booked in for AFC scan ASAP. We would be starting shortly if it wasn't for Christmas closing. I was expecting a much more drawn out process!
