Will the bleeding after failed IVF ever stop?!

We had a failed round of IVF in November, got a negative pregnancy and then a bit afterwards had a week long period. I then had a week of no bleeding. I then started bleeding again and I have now been bleeding for a fortnight with no sign of it stopping.

I’m somewhat annoyed that the clinic didn’t make clear to us about side effects such as a painful vagina, endless bleeding and weight gain that just won’t shift 🙄. Despite the endless walks and gym visits

Hi El

Ive had cycles at 3 different clinics and none of them have ever told me the side effects as i suppose every woman is different.
I think they do say that it can mess up your cycle of a month or 2 hence why they get you to wait 3 cycles before starting another cycle (that and to give your body a rest from the drugs)

All the symptoms your describing, ive never experienced but if your concerned, id call the clinic or go to your GP. I think after 2 weeks of a steady flow, id be seeking advice.

Hi @EL8888 I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've had two failed ivf rounds and nothing like you describe re bleeding for so long. If I were you I'd go see a doctor asap as per @Softscoop35's advice. I hope you feel better soon – sending love xxx

Problem is my GP’s surgery are useless, they are clueless about fertility stuff and most like will tell me to contact the clinic. The clinic don’t seem very interested in aftercare, when l contacted them about my vaginal pain then they suggested going for a walk, drinking water and taking paracetamol Hmm That maybe good advice for a headache. But less so for pain that brings tears to your eyes and makes going to the toilet difficult. I regret the whole IVF thing and just want to get back to normal which seems elusive

@EL8888 - I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. I have found that aftercare from the IVF clinic isn't great. They certainly didn't warn me about what can happen afterwards. I understand your GP surgery are useless, but could you ask to be referred to a gynacologist? I think you are more than entitled to that especially if this bleeding continues.
