Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic

I was referred by my GP after having 3 consecutive miscarriages. I received a letter saying that I’d been added to the waiting list. I called today to ask about the wait time and she said it’s quite a few months shock She said if it were an urgent referral it would be approx 8 weeks. What constitutes urgent?!
Is this the norm?

Unfortunately it is the norm - from confirmation that the clinic had my referral to actually getting to see the "specialist" it was 4 months (large regional hospital with dedicated unit so not a small provincial hospital)

To be honest I found the so called specialist pretty useless - maybe because they didn't find anything but more because they are limited to the odd blood test checking thyroid and blood clotting. They aren't interested in karyotyping or chromosomes or lining thickness or progesterone levels. I was packed off with a call us when you next get a BFP and we ll scan you at 6 weeks which for many people's miscarriages is too late to then make a real difference

I went to an IVF clinic in the end to get the additional tests x

I'm sorry for your losses @TwinkleStars15 I'm afraid my experience is similar. My initial appointment was 4 months wait but I managed to get a cancellation. Unfortunately after waiting 7 weeks for my blood test results, I discovered last week they lost them! So had those redone this week. My follow up isn't until the end of February. Unless my bloods show an issue they won't do much for us other than early scans if I do manage to concieve. It was helpful to speak with the consultant but we are no closer to any answers yet.

I'm under Tommy's in Birmingham but am debating going to Professor Quenby in Coventry. Going to see how my appointment in February goes x
