How long did you wait after a failed ivf?

We had an unsuccessful cycle which ended at the end of November. We are seeing the consultant soon to hopefully start the plans for the next cycle. I'm just wanting to manage my expectations really on how soon we can go again. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long did you wait between cycles? Thanks

Hi I waited for a bleed then went again so about 6 weeks till I started meds :) and we were successful! Currently 28 weeks :)
First transfer was more about my body making as many eggs as possible for egg retrieval more than getting the uterus ready so second transfer had frozen transfer xx

Are you going to do the same protocol and drugs? I requested Gonal F as great reviews and higher success rates but didn't think they would let me as the more expensive drug.. they did let me have it so ask about it xxx

Hi
I had IVF ( ICSI ) due to male fertility (really low/poor sperm)

my first cycle last year resulted in 5 eggs only 1 fertilised.. transferred that one 3days after and it was successful but we miscarriaged at 10 weeks.. no eggs left so had to start another cycle 2month after my miscarriage (so 2 periods) and we got the same outcome at egg collection only 5 eggs retrieved and only 1 fertilised.. so we transferred it again 3 days after and ive just got my baby girl 🥰 she’s 20 week old... July 2019... don’t give up..
Good luck for the future ❤️

Thanks for all your replies and success stories. Fingers crossed I'm one of them stories one day too!
@StarlyBeee we are paying so if I want more expensive drugs I can have them. I don't know if we are having same drugs as I haven't seen anyone since it failed, we have our appt in a few days. I'm planning to ask for different drugs as we only got 10 eggs and 6 fertilised so id like more than that really.
@shazzz1xx I'm having icsi for male factor too. Really hope it's second time lucky for us!!

We had three fails before giving ourselves a full year break. I had been through surgery too before starting ivf. We were successful with round 4 (amost a year to the day after failed round 3). We both feel that the year break gave my body (and mind) a proper chance to heal.
Do what feels right to you. Good
luck. X
