Trigger shot & ovulation tests

Hi, for anyone out there with experience of the trigger shot - does it mess up the ovulation predictor tests? My clear blue is saying peak fertility for 3 days running (it's usually 2 days) and my cheapy opks are also still showing a darker line than the test line.
Just want to make sure I'm having sex the right days. She said do it the day of the shot and the 2 days after, which we did, but this is now 3 days after the shot and so I'm wondering if I have definitely ovulated or not yet!

Yes it does mess them up. The shot is a massive dose of pregnancy hormone hcg - on a molecular level hcg is very similar to LH which is why your ovulation test is coming up positive

If you did the shot you can expect to ovulate within 36 hours so you don't really need to keep testing at all.....

Also it takes up to 10 days for the shot to be out of hour system so you'll continue to get positive ovulation tests by the way

HCG has a half life of around 29 hours - so if the dose was 10,000 every day the level should approximately halve

Ahhh thank you! That makes so much sense! I'll ignore the opks from now on then (and save myself a fortune on Clear Blue!)
Was trying to figure out when to start the cyclogest, but am safely past the 36 hours now so am good to go. Thank you

I started cyclogest on day zero - day of ovulation - as I did trigger shot in the morning it was classed as the following day. If I had done the trigger in the evening ovulation day would not be the following day but day after that

Thank you @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted. I was worried about doing the cyclogest too soon as it could block ovulation, but I think I was probably too cautious. If I ovulated Saturday I think I started it 2dpo. Hopefully it'll still do something! Thanks for your help x
