Hi All,
Had an upsetting experience today and I am struggling to find relevant articles online.
I had a day 5 transfer, however none of my embryos reached blastocyst. They picked two which had the most cells in the hope they might reach blastocyst on day 6, but they were poor to medium quality because of fragmentation and the fact they showed slow behaviour.
I am struggling to lift my mood today and can’t stop myself from crying as this is my second cycle and I just thought we would have a better chance this time round.
Anyone have similar experience?

Thanks

Hi sunshine015 Sorry you're feeling down. I've felt the same worry many times. My last three embryo transfers were unsuccessful (well last one cancelled as embryo stopped growing). We do have a 20 month old from our first/successful IVF in 2017 but this time round it doesn't seem to be working. Anyhow, it sounds positive that they went ahead with the transfer (if they want to keep their stats high they won't put back a bad embryo) plus you have 2 rather than 1. It's a numbers game and I'm crossing my fingers for you! Good luck x

@Sunshine015 I'm sorry it'd be hard day for you.Ivf is so hard.

I don't have a similar experience but a couple we met at our ivf did. Two poor quality emybros back, they have a nearly 3yr old . So it can happy.

Go easy on yourself and distract yourself as much as you can.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you ❤️

Hi Guys,

Looking for anyone who can help me understand what is happening!!

So I’m going through IVF had 1 failed FET in a natural cycle and 1 FET on medication. I became pregnant on the second round and last Monday 4/11 I got a cb pregnant 1-2 week. That night I have terrible pain and light spotting. In the morning I work up and the spotting had turned to blood, called the hospital and was told to keep and eye on the bleeding and testing again in a weeks times. Tested lasted night and I got a pregnant 2-3 weeks!! I thought I’d lost the baby, have I still lost the baby?? I thought the hog would reduce, I didn’t expect a 2-3 result I thought I’d at least get a 1-2 still or maybe even a not pregnant.....please help I’m so confused 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi @Sunshine015

I had a similar experience. On my 1st round of IVF only had 1 embryo left by day 5. They called me the morning of the transfer to say it was very poor quality and asked if I still wanted to bother with the transfer as the prospects were not good. They said it was poor quality and very slow growing. I went ahead anyway with a lot of pessimism and tears and am now pregnant Smile. So you never know! Good luck and dont worry too much about what they said on quality, my understanding is that there are lots of other factors at work so you just dont know what might happen.

@Girlinajumpsuit ah that is a lovely story thank you for sharing. Did you do anything in particular to help with implantation? My concern is the embryos hadn’t reached blastocyst on day 5, and I have had a call today that the ones they left to monitor also haven’t moved forward so they are disposing of them.

I had weekly acupuncture for a few months before and also specifically on the day of transfer. I also massively improved my diet and tried to eat a lot of red and green veg which are supposed to help with blood flow to the uterus. It may well have just been good luck, and the doctors in my clinic said there is nothing you can really do to make a difference to implantation, but I did really feel like the acupuncture helped. I also kept fairly active and didn't have bed rest or anything. Really hope it goes well for you this time, its such a tough experience x

@Girlinajumpsuit ah I have improved my diet but I haven’t done acupuncture. Praying this embaby sticks. x
