So I’ve had my AMH blood test now waiting for period so I can have my scan and consultation on 13th Nov. I was at the clinic yesterday and saw a poster saying I had missed the last period date before Xmas closure so I’m guessing I won’t actually start until after Xmas 😭 I hate the wait!

Anyone else at this stage or have been there and has any tips on how to no obsess. I’m literally staring at the calendar counting down the days !!

I was in a similar position, my body obliged with a rare sub 30 day cycle and my period started the day before the Christmas cutoff 🙏😂 The waiting is so hard though. I tried to think positively of it as giving me more time to get my body ready through diet and supplements. Good luck!

Clinics vary - my clinic is only closed on Xmas day, so everything carries on as normal

Morning.
We are waiting to start out first icsi cycle.
Am booked in for a scratch and nurses appointment on the 13th then if my period obliges we will be one of the last to start before the christmas cut off. Period due on the 23rd and I think the cut off is the 26th. The nurse really wasn't sure about booking us in at first so fingers crossed my body plays ball!!!! 🤞

My clinic is moving location over Christmas so they have longer window than usual where they are not starting new cycles. Thankfully my body was on my side for once!

@misshoney85 think we could be at the same clinic. Victoria Wing?

@Hopefully84 what is the evidence for having a scratch and then a delayed start to cycle due to their shutdown??? Admittedly there isn’t much evidence for it in the first place, but I’d be worried that this could just become an expensive procedure with no benefit

I couldn't do a round for my October date as I'm taking the children (I'm a foster carer) away for half term next week which ofcourse coincided with my period.
If I wasnt going away I would have booked in for the october cycle without the scratch for sure.
No idea if it will be of any benefit but as we had the time due to having to wait for following cycle anyway I thought we would throw everything at it for the first round....may not have one again for any future treatments as I wont want to delay or prolong.
We have gone with the 2 year unlimited plan through access fertility.

Maybe your clinic is slightly different to mine then - on my protocol, I would have a scratch after day 1 of the same cycle that I would start downreg on day 21

I'm on a short protocol.
Im not sure if that makes a difference?
I'll be starting meds from first day of new period.
So my scratch will be halfway through previous months cycle.

Ah that may explain.

@Fredsgirl19 yes same! You have to wait for my next cycle anyway after the Initial Consultation so it might not have set you back. Depends how your dates work out I guess. I'm sure a nurse will talk you through it if you call, they seem super helpful! I know the waiting is the worst part, I was so disappointed after waiting so long for the Initial Consultation then finding it was just the start of another wait.

Not thrilled by the thought of the injections. Plus it appear there will be a lot! Luckily we are both qualified nurses so adept at sticking needles into people

@Fredsgirl19

Not cool about all the injections but on the other hand it will be easy compared to the HSG I had 🤣
If the cost of my own child is a million injections then right now I’m ready for it (May not be in three months 👌 lol)

Hi I’m in the same boat now!
We have consent signing Tuesday and then I ring on my next period but that is not till middle of November then it starts from day 21 so think it will be too late as the hospital I’m at shut for 2 weeks over Christmas. Bit gutted but I’m sure I can wait till janruary plus like others have said it gives more time and lets us get Xmas out of the way too. Good luck to everyone! X

I had to give my husband injections every day when he was having chemo but I’m not sure how I feel about doing it myself. He offered but no way!! He will want to her his own back 😂 I think it’s true though. What’s a few injections for the sake of making our dreams come true!
