Your ivf journey - Reprofit. Travel was fine, brno is easy.
It didn't work. £6000 flights food everything (donor cycle).
They're a good clinic, but we are now going elsewhere.

You should do it, the UK is an expensive sham with lower success rates. Check out ivi Spain and serum athens.

Thanks so much for your response @AliceAbsolum
Can I ask why, if it's a good clinic you are going elsewhere for another round instead of back there again?
How long did you have to stay over in Czech for and was it just the 1 trip?

We generally had a bad time - we got 1 embryo with donor eggs, my DH was very ill with a bug, also on one scan the Dr didn't wash his hand or put gloves on....

1 no probs. Why we chose Madrid as quick easy flight and clinic gave us hotels to stay in

2 yes but took 3 times abroad - 5 in all . 3rd fresh cycle (2 in uk failed) that failed but with extra drugs and technology got 6 to freeze. 2nd fet was our much wanted daughter after 10yrs ttc

3 £27k in all 5 attempts but £15k abroad - but includes all the below and would be about £4300/4400k for one cycle travel drugs etc

4 totally yes

after 2 failed in uk, and £12k - we used ivi in madrid

we spent £15k abroad, this includes everything, flights 6 times going over for chat,op,cycle 3,attempt 4 fet, era, attempt 5 fet

airport parking, taxis to clinic, all blood tests and cf and sperm freezing, hotels, scans for fets, 2 era, fresh cycle, freezing for 2yrs, 2 fets, cervival dilation (800 in madrid,£3.5k in uk)

looking at my notes, as we flew in and out rather stay there for a week as both se, the first cycle there but 3rd in all,if worked would have cost

3.5k ivf icsi
367 flights for ec return for 2 adults
100 taxi from airport to ivi
80 hotel night in madrid
60 scan home to check lining before flying for ec
30 gatwick parking
657 flights for et (never do xmas/ny lol) for 2 adults
100 taxi airport/ivi return
34 hotel night in madrid
30 gatwick parking

total £4858

tho as said above we flew over for ec dec 28th and back again for etc jan2 so spent 1024 on flights and double on taxi/parking/hotel

when we went for fet month later was 203 return for both of us and did in a day sono hotel costs

so flight prices really do vary

moral of story, dont start down reg in oct as ec/et will be end of dec/jan and bloody costly on flights

so take off silly money for flights and i say you could do do ivf icsi abroad for £4300/4400 including everything

you have to think about flights, parking, hotels etc in your budget

You could look at mild protocol ivf in the UK - I'm doing that at cost of £5.5k all in including freezing - clinic is 15 mins away and does scans from 730am so as not to impact work......going abroad is fine If you are local to an airport who flies cheaply and directly to the clinic location.....

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2019 17:47

That’s cheap for uk. Mild I assume means less drugs/lower dose

Have they said this is top figure - or you may find extras if need more drugs if follicles aren’t the right size

That’s where the cost often is - think mine were £150 a day. 3 extra days and another £500

Report
itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 01/09/2019 06:29

@Blondeshavemorefun
Mild just means no down reg so the whole cycle is done in about 14 days max - last round I got the same number of follicles and eggs than my friends on full ivf in my age group (14) - the stim dose for me due to AMH level is 225 which is the same as most people on full ivf

IVF - £3150
Support pack including all bloods, embryoscope etc £950
Drugs £700
Freezing £850

This was with Create x

Thanks for that @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted

I’ve onlg ever known Down reg

Weird how clinics do things differently

Your drugs were much less then mine. THo I was an old fart and had a high dose

Higher then uk clinic hence WHy sure abroad gof a better result - for me

JeNeBaguetteRien · 01/09/2019 10:11

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted that is a great result.
I also had no down regging on last cycle (though it was 'short protocol' rather than mild as I still had reasonably high doses of drugs).
My first cycle the down regging totally shut down my ovaries and no amount of drugs could persuade them to produce an egg!

@Broodyaf I have been for a consultation in IVI in Spain and will go there for treatment so can't tell you yet any outcomes. I will dig out the prices later but it won't be any cheaper than us than for example going to IVI London due to the current exchange rate and flighys/accommodation it will be more expensive but I think they have better technology.
I have heard a lot of good things about the Czech Republic clinics but it's logistically not easy for me to get there.
I think some offer Skype consultations if that would help.
I've also seen NewLife and Serum in Athens recommended here.

@JeNeBaguetteRien
That's why I didn't want to do full ivf as was worried about switching ovaries off and them
Not coming back on! I have the worst luck when it comes to ttc - 5 mc and 2 ruptured ectopics means no tubes left - everything that day go wrong does for me - I felt had put body through enough so wanted a milder approach (I'm 36 by the way)

If your below age 37 with BMI below 30 and AMH over 12 you can also go to ABC - their complete package including ALL medication is £3.5k - they are only based in London and Oxford through

Hi @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted you really have had an awful time, so hoping for good news for you soon.
I'm 39 and have low AMH and most recent blood test also showed high FSH so keen to crack on with next round ASAP.

Thank you all for your recommendations and opinions.
So we have done loads of research our side and pretty much decided on Reprofit in Brno. I filled in the lengthy questionnaire...

One of the things they looks for is your hormone profile bloods test on day 1-3 of your cycle - I have all the results except the TSH, but mine were on the 21day bloods ...
I wonder can they accept these or will I have to pay to get them all redone?

I also have my AMH done but it was done on CD 15 - but I believe it doesn't matter what day it is taken for the same result

Anyone know any more abt this?

OP when I have needed blood tests for days 1-3 and day 21 my lovely GP does them for me for free, have you asked your doc for these?
Also I want to use Brno Reprofit; what's the initial procedure for starting this? Do you have to visit them before you start? Where do you have scans and tests during the cycle? What do you need to send them before you start? Sorry to derail.

@Broodyaf
Thank you! I hope so too. We re going to try one more round with PGS testing this time and then draw a line under it all and try and move on xx

Broodyaf · 01/09/2019 18:37

Hey @Mookie81
No I haven't asked my GP but I think I will ask her tomoro.
So the initial procedure to start with them is to go online (make sure you go direct to their website and not "your ivf journey" as they charge) and fill out a lengthy questionnaire/medical form and submit it.
Once they go through it they email you back saying what other tests they would need in order to decide what drugs are best suited to you.
So u can have a consultation over the phone, on Skype or you can go over - all free (except if you go over u have to pay flights etc)
They discuss treatment options with you and if you decide for eg ivf they make up a batch of drugs based on your bloods/scans and email you a prescription. They also send you a schedule of what to take on what days. You go get the script over here and take it according to the schedule. They'll ask you on certain days to go get a private scan and email them the results - based on those they give you your egg collection date. You can go over the day before, collect eggs next day, wait 5 days, get them in and they suggest no travel for 2 days after but up to you.
If you want to be over there for the whole cycle then the scans while ur on stims are free, but obviously this doesn't suit a lot of people.
As u can see I've done loads of research - and been chatting to 3 different people who've all been through IVF over there xx

I've also filled in the questionnaire for Reprofit and I also had day 21 results for certain tests which they have asked me to redo. They need recent test results from CD 1-4. I'll have to wait till my next cycle to have these done and then see what reprofit have to say.
I have also contacted Newlife and filled in a form asking similar details, I expect they will also expect me to retest.

I went up to my GP today to get copies of all my previous tests and to be booked in for more bloods (day 1-4) - the receptionist automatically thought my NHS clinic had requested these bloods and booked me in straight away - so I'm in to get those done on Tuesday!

I rang NHS clinic to request their notes from last weeks appt including transvaginal exam, AMH & TSH - I was told inhad to request them in writing and they take up to 30days to release then I have to collect them in person!
But once I get them that's everything and I'm good to go 🙌

Went to Reprofit in Brno, £3000 IVF plus icsi plus all things fancy (picsi and time lapse incubator, own eggs and sperm), meds were about £600 from fertility2u. Traveling and scans in the UK probably another £1000. We got 100% fertilization rate and 3 blasts as opposed to 30% fertilization and 1 three day embryo in the UK clinic. You can arrange a free consultation over Skype with them to start. I also considered IVI in Spain but they wanted a consultation in person first and their price was £4500

Hi @Viletta. Yes as it showed I needed longed on the progynova

That although lining was ok at 1,1 it wasn’t the right day

The embryos had been put back too early - we are literally only talking a day or so

And the fet after the era was the one that worked

Ive mentioned somewhere before on infertility that I ended up taking progynova for longer due to being on holiday

Clinic said maybe it might make lining too thick but when I got scanned I had the perfect triple layer plus lining still 1.1

I’ve alwaya had a good response to the lining drugs - some clinic won’t implant till least over .8

I think it’s Dec worth having a mock cycle and era before doing another fresh cycle or using a fet
