FET OTD and no sign of AF (yet!)

Hi ladies,

This is my first FET cycle. Have done two fresh cycles previously and bled on day 27/28.

I'm on day 35 today (OTD is Weds) and no sign of AF arriving.

Obviously the meds are different - more progesterone, plus progynova, inhixia and pred.

For anyone who's done a FET before, is it the meds stopping my AF or do you think I could be in with a shot?

Had a few small twinges here and there but nothing to really report as a symptom. As you can probably tell, I'm sending myself crazy!

Any advice would be gratefully welcomed x

The meds should really hold any bleeding at bay. But tbh I'm an inveterate tester and would never wait until my test day anyway; I prefer to know which way the wind is blowing.

Take care, keep yourself occupied, and best of luck!

Yes I know you're right, I'm going to hold off testing until Weds to keep this feeling going a little longer that it just might have worked.

Thanks for replying xx

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the progesterone usually (but not always!) holds off any bleeding.

I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks and the meds stopped any bleeding with that so I imagine they would probably hold off bleeding at 4ish weeks.

Fingers crossed for you!!!!

No probs @Eggcellent29 and I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Must have been awful to go through.

Progesterone hasn't stopped AF on my last two cycles although I'm on 100mg more this time. It made me wonder whether progynova stops it and that's why the witch hasn't arrived.

Had quite a few low abdominal cramps and pulling last night and today. Desperately trying to not get my hopes up but I'm either on a massive low that it hasn't worked on a massive high that this time it might have done.

3 more sleeps then I'll know I'll guess 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

@FingersXssd83

That’s interesting! Perhaps it is different for each person? In which case it must be a good sign for you!!

That pulling feeling was a positive sign for me both times :)

It’s so hard waiting! My heart goes out to you girl ❤️

Ahh that's great to hear @Eggcellent29 although you hear ppl with no symptoms go on to get their BFP and ppl who have loads a BFN. Really screws with your mind!

Still, I feel positive that AF hasn't arrived. It has to work sometimes right and maybe that one time could just be me (haven't believed it could before now!).

Thanks for your support 💕

Good luck @FingersXssd83 ! No idea on the meds vs AF but just wanted to send you well wishes! My first fresh ended in MC and we're due our first FET in two weeks if Friday scan looks good so reading up in advance! Xx

Hi OP, I've been in a similar position to you. On my two fresh cycles I started bleeding about 4 days before OTD (have asked several consultants about this and they've all said some women's bodies just override the drugs), but when I had a FET I didn't bleed at all. I got my hopes up but unfortunately it was a BFN (I really hope it is a different outcome for you though!) I figured it was because of the different mix of drugs on a FET, and the fact that in a fresh cycle you have still ovulated in a way, and I could tell my body really wanted to have a period by the time I got to day 35 or so as I was having loads of extreme hormonal symptoms. Whereas on a FET the meds I had stopped me from ovulating, and it's a shorter protocol so my body wasn't triggered to have a period until I stopped the meds. Also wondered if the mix of progynova and progestregone held it off rather than just progestregone in a fresh cycle. I'm not a medical expert but this is just my theory! Good luck with your treatment, I really hope it works out. I'm due to have a double FET in August and dreading the hell of the 2ww already!

Thanks so much @LouLouB1987 and best of luck with your FET!

@sunshineandsea I thought that might be the case. I've been getting my hopes up and because I've had some cramps and weird tastes in my mouth even more so. The thing that is keeping me realistic is that I haven't had any changes in my bbs. Small and rubbish as usual!

I've had to sneak out of my office just now to call my clinic for a pre-emptive counselling appointment and a chat with a nurse as I feel like I'm going out of my mind. My hands are full on shaking!! Just want this over now.

I also had a DET, thanks again for your comments and best of everything for your transfer! x x

How are you doing @FingersXssd83? Any news?

Scan tomorrow to see how my lining is. Hoping for thick! Xx

BFN for me yesterday @LouLouB1987 Clinic said I have to stay on the meds and retest tomorrow because AF hasn't arrived.

Three cycles, three BFNs. 5 good embryos in total. Going to have a lap and some more tests done before we do any more transfers. It's bloody hard this.

Good luck with your FET hun, really hope it works out for you. I know you've had to go through the ordeal of a MC, but I'm sure that's a good sign that implantation can take place

Owwww @FingersXssd83 sorry to hear. I wish I could say with some truth the old 'your not out until AF arrives' but we both know how patronising it feels when we've come this far!

I can only hope you get some more answers before your next transfer and maybe they can make some adjustments or different recommendations.

Thank you. Yes hopefully it means they can stick! Just taking one day at a time. Pop back if you need a rant or chat! Xx
