Period after fet

Hello,

Can anyone advise me on this? I had my first fet on 16th May, and was planning to take a pregnancy test tomorrow (ahead of blood test on Wed). I assumed I wouldn't get my period until after I stopped the progynova and cyclogest, but I've noticed a small bit of blood today so am sure my period is on its way.

Can your period sometimes come despite the drugs? It's 28 days since my last bleed so the dates make sense.

Feeling very deflated.

Thanks. X

Still take the pregnancy test you could still have a BFP it happens sometimes . If your test is possitive tell your clinic they may want to scan at week 6 or so to ensure that it is in the correct place and a blood test to check your levels. FX its not over yet for you. Let us know how you get on x

Thank you both for your replies. I'm still testing tomorrow but prepared for the worst. It was only a spot of brownish blood and nothing since but can't help but feel that I'm definitely out. Feel like my period is about to appear any minute. Will let you know how I get on. X

I got a strong BFP this morning but am still bleeding and have bad period pains. It's all very confusing.

When I've had a CP before the line got fainter and fainter and my period didn't come until it had practically disappeared - so it's strange to see such a bold line alongside the blood.

Congratulations ! I would phone your clinic and just let them know what has been happening hopefully your levels are still good on Wed. FX that your bleeding stops and the pain subsides. Its just a waiting game now. Its great that its a strong BFP, Best of luck X

Bleeding is common in ivf pregnancies, I bled at 8 weeks and my DS is 4 now. Get in touch with your clinic, good luck and keep us posted 😊

Just posting for anyone who finds this thread looking for reassurance. My pregnancy was successful and I'm looking at my gorgeous almost one year old right now.

I can only assume that initial bleed was implantation. I did bleed a few times after that, up to around 16 weeks, but only old (brown) blood.

Good luck everyone!

@burgerlady Thanks for letting us know, i love these happy success stories!

I wonder why bleeding is more common in IVF even with BFP, it's such a worry, on top of everything else we've been through by this stage.

@burgerlady congrats! Thanks for updating. I was about to reply until I saw the date on your original post to say a test! I tested early after my FET because of a bleed and was certain it was my period and just wanted to get it over with (thought it was weird as I'd never bled while on the meds before), and was stunned to get a BFP. Bled on and off for 3 weeks which was terrifying but It turned out at my viability scan just to be a little haematoma. I think these are more common than people realise. I'm 15 + 2 now and have had no further issues. Enjoy your LO xxx

Like above, one of the sonographers thought she saw a small haematoma. I was also advised that progynova makes your cervix very sensitive and prone to bleeding. But it is very worrying, especially after all you go through with IVF (and even more so if you have a history of miscarriage). I was so anxious I didn't announce my pregnancy until 20 weeks.

Congrats @SamoyedFan123 on your pregnancy. You're just a few weeks away from feeling flutters and knowing with every little movement your baby is happy and well! That was my favourite part Smile.
