Just trying to start a thread on how many cycles it took some of you ladies with male factor infertility issues?
I know it doesn’t make a difference on how many it might take me and oh, just interested in others experiences. So if you could and don’t mind answer these questions in your replies -

Your age -
Dh age-
Infertility issues-
How many cycles till you were successful-

Thankyou to whoever replies just trying to stay positive while waiting

HI there,

Age - 37 now (35 when conceived through IVF)
DH age- same
Issue: Non obstructive azoospermia (zero sperm, no idea why).
He underwent a Microtese operation to retrieve sperm (50:50 chance)
No. Cycles: Fresh IVF 1 - I developed OHSS and a BFN
FET with 2 x Days 3 embryos - my DS - now 16 months.

Trying for number two now with our last frozen embryo next month. Husband gearing himself up for another operation.

It's hard to stay positive. I found hardly any success stories when I was looking two years ago, so wanted to give people some hope!

My age 31
DH age 34
Issues MFI and reduced ovarian reserve
Cycle one got 20 eggs (so not that reduced!!) but no good quality blasts by day 5 despite 14 fertilising. Cycle 2 - age 32 but then. got 22 eggs, tested for dna fragmentation and husband had 19.8% (moderately high) so surgical removed the sperm for that round. Got my 10 week old sleeping next to me and 2 in the freezer!

Your age - 28
Dh age - 38
Infertility issues - azoospermia, both obstructive and non obstructive (one on each side)
How many cycles till you were successful - We had one failed cycle, then sought help from a well-known urologist who operated on my DH. He fixed the obstruction, in a procedure known as an epididymovasostomy. We're now 6 months pregnant.

Thankyou all so much for your replies and giving me som hope! Having one of my shit days again when I can’t be positive so reading your replies has helped.
I’ve been on the forum fertility friends and find it has worried me a lot more, it seems on the icsi thread a lot of ladies talk about sperm donor? With there partners having a count of 1.5-3 million which is about my husbands ranges. It’s really put a downer on things, as I thought if there is sperm there’s all the chance that we will have his biological child am I wrong in thinking that?
Our consultant has said icsi with hubbys sperm and maybe freeze some before our cycle just in case. Am I just over worrying and being negative?

Infertility issues- MFI, complete azoospermia. Saw Dr Ramsey. DH went on Clomid, diet, exercise, vitamins and Proxeed. Managed to find approx 30 (not thousand, just 30!) live sperm. Went abroad for Icsi.
How many cycles till you were successful- 30 eggs collected (I have PCOS) freeze only cycle. 4 Frosties. Successful on first transfer. 22 weeks atm.

Miracles can and do happen! Good luck.
