Your FET experiences?

Will be starting FET in a few weeks, 6 months after a freeze all cycle due to ohss. I’m very lucky and have a lot of eggs in the freezer, all frozen on day 3.

So after a few months respite my brain is now kicking into action with the what ifs/what are my chances mere-go-round!

I just wanted to ask for those of you that had FET how you found it, what was he outcome and how did you cope?

Been ttc for 7 years so I’m pretty toughened up but I’d love to hear your stories, both positive and negative to help get my head around this part!

I had a freeze all cycle. Which in itself I was gutted about as was hoping for a fresh transfer.

My first FET a few months later didn't stick. My period came (whilst at work) before I even got to OTD and tbh I was quite distraught. There was definitely a feeling of loss even though I was never pregnant.

My second FET was a stickie and is now a very vocal, happy 19 month old toddler!

My first FET has just failed (freeze all due to OHSS) - I did an unmedicated transfer so process very quick and easy. My blastocyst was a 3BA and I've got 2 more in the freezer so hoping to go straight into another transfer x

I don't have experience yet but will be starting to prepare for one soon too. When will you start?

I’m just waiting for the letter to confirm exact details, but I know medication will start week of 8th and transfer due week of 29th. How about you @ginandtonic?

I had a good experience - first round of ICSI, freeze all due to OHSS. Had 8 embryos to freeze. The transfer itself was a bit uncomfortable but not bad - I think I was just tense! Found out I was pregnant two weeks later and my baby daughter is now nearly 5 months old. My consultant said for some reason he always tends to get good results after a freeze all cycle - said if it was up to him he’d advise everyone to freeze all. Your body has had chance to calm down after all the hormones / upheaval of egg retrieval and that can lead to a better outcome.

I’ve been told freeze all cycles have better outcomes too.

We had 4 4AA from our freeze all ICSI cycle. My clinic prefers freeze all and after much reading about it we agreed that it was better not only for my body for potential DCs. We had 2 put back in in January this year after 4 months of waiting for my body to reset itself. Didnt do anything special apart from drink 2 litres a day. On day of transfer ended up drinking a litre an hour before transfer. Was really umcomfortable as my bladder was really full but they showed me that because of its fullness, it had made my uterus flat and therefore easier to get to where they wanted to implant. I thought I was going to pee on the guys face as he was inserting the cannula and the other lady was pushing down to get the view they needed. DH filmed the screen as we watched them blasting out of the cannula. Never felt soooo happy to go for a wee. Went shopping afterwards and then went to dinner. As we were abroad, the time flew and we didn't notice the 9 days go by until test date. I am currently 11+4 weeks right now

I’m in the same position, OP. Had to freeze all due to OHSS risk (26 eggs) and am starting my FET when AF arrived which should be around 7th April if it turns up on time (last one was 9 days late). I’m not down regulating but will use Estrogen pills and progesterone pessaries!

I'll be starting a FET next month. I'll get my protocol on Thursday. I'll start Norethisterone on the 4th April. I did my fresh IVF in December, BFP, resulted in a miscarriage. I've just get my first AF after the MC so feel like get look forward to the next cycle. I remember the transfer being totally fine and a bit surreal.

I'm about to start FET too - baseline is next week with transfer scheduled for 11 April. Slightly anxious about the thaw as we've only got 1 in the freezer

I remember two nights in a row I woke up with a sharp cramping type pain that came and then just went away again, and I went back to sleep. I think in hindsight it might have been implant type pain. I can’t remember anything other than that really.
