Looking for IVF/ICSI hope.

We have been ttc for two years now. Hubby has a low sperm count, poor morphology etc. All my result came back as no problems, high fertility. Just had our first round of ivf with icsi which resulted in 4 blastocysts. 3 frozen, 1 transferred. BFN.
Absolutely heartbroken. Everything else went so perfectly, no ohss, lowest dose of hormones gave us 17 mature eggs. But seriously doubting if the doc who did transfer did it right. As he questioned me after saying he thought I needed a 3d scan as I may have a dual cervix, I then pointed out I've already had a hsg scan. To which he replied well I would recommend it, if this doesn't work of course. Didn't fill me with confidence and I plan on complaining and won't be having him treat me again.

We have 3 more waiting and are waiting to hear back from the clinic to book an appointment to discuss the outcome etc and make plans for a FET.

Just looking for hope. My sister is currently pregnant with her second. Watching my neice grow up kills me, as we both started ttc at the same time.
Anyone fail at first but get a positive result in the end? Feels like this is the end and need to know that we still stand a chance. Just don't know why it didn't work.

Hi ginger,

My first transfer failed. I'm currently breastfeeding my 11 week old DD.

She was our 4th transfer (2nd full cycle). My two frozen cycles in between the first failed attempt and her sadly ended in miscarriage.

It's hard. Stay strong, talk about things as you feel comfortable with.

We icsi too btw

1st cycle 14 eggs - 10 fertilised. 5 made it to blast. 1 transfered, 2 frozen

2nd cycle 7eggs - 6 fertilised. All made it to blast. 1trabsfered (DD). 4 frozen

Hi OP, you should remember that first cycles fail far more often than they succeed so don't lose hope. The first cycle is usually a bit of trial and error for your medical team and NICE guidelines I think are that you should give it at least 3 cycles - the odds of success go up each time. (currently 24 weeks after second cycle following a failed first cycle here).
