KK82 we only managed 4 eggs but none survived to the 5 day blast stage. The first cycle is rather experimental to see how and what your body does, if you are fortunate for it to work first time then woohoo.
Our cycle was obviously cancelled due to having none to transfer. Our next cycle the clinic slightly increased meds and kept me stimminh for just a few days longer to allow more eggs to mature. We got 19 mature eggs.

Thank you for your response. When did you start the second round after? Did they put you on ICSI instead? When you got the 19 mature ones what response have you had. X

Ur welcome
So we waited 4 months between cycles so that my body could recover. My clinic does ICSI as standard, most European clinics do.
Out of the 19, 16 fertilised and made it to day 3, as we were going with a freeze all we waited to see how many made it to day 5, 4 did, grade 4AA. We had 2 put back in when we went back for FET in Jan. Currently 9 weeks.

That’s fantastic wish you all the best.
We have been told we have to wait until May now. Just feel like it’s a long waiting game and having to go through it again is making me feel anxious.

Give your body time to heal, those injectables wreak havoc and the last thing you want is to have your cycle cancelled. Just make sure you take your Ubiquinol and get them eggs in the best possible shape

Ubiquinol is the mother of all antioxidants that has shown to improve egg quality. When we started our journey I was 35 and told my eggs would be no good due to my age. First lot at age 36 were grade A and second lot at age 37 were also all grade A. I dont know if it was naturally or if it was the fact that I had taken 400mg ubiquinol for the 3 months before the cycle. Second cycle I also took glutathione

Ubiquinol is a supplement you can buy online, and probably from shops as well. It's the most bio-available form of Co-EnzymeQ10. You want the expensive stuff (ubiquinol) not the cheap stuff (coq10). It's pricey.

@64632K Did you know your egg quality was a problem or was it just the fact that you were 35? I am also 35 and no one has said my eggs will definitely be too old! (Although my AMH is not brilliant -- think it's around 4.8)

I'm not sure how much comfort this will give you, but, having had a similar experience with our first round (although privately), and having been told to come back several months later (our clinic was about to undergo a refit), we then conceived naturally about six weeks later.

I don't want to give you false hope, but just hope that these things can happen.

Wishing you all the best of luck xx

RyvitaBrevis no I am going along the whole fertility box they put women in, over 35 = bad eggs, overweight = no way and blah blah blah.

They had three eggs. Two were immature. One fertilised but then degenerated. I’m 36 and petite. I only found out the problem is my eggs yesterday. Everything else is fine Amh levels nothing came out wrong. Although my doctor has said she wants Thyroid now checking and vitamin d. They didn’t tell me the grade of the eggs. Just that it didn’t work.

Thank you. My husband has suggested we try naturally but I feel scared either way Of the heart ache . I know I need to pick myself back up and can’t lose hope.

I’m happy you conceived naturally. Wouldn’t want anyone to go through this journey x

KK82 I did a lot of reading before we started our IVF, how the life cycle of sperm is about 70 days (reason why they ask for samples 3 months apart) and the egg you release in the month as bern developing for a year, but the most important development takes place in the 90 days before release. I read about the decline of fertility and how the world we live in with all the toxins we eat and breathe affects sperm and eggs. Ubiquinol and Glutathione naturally occurs in the body but declin with age. They are responsible for getting rid of toxins and are especially good for eggs and sperm. Now I live a pretty clean lifestyle and have been for years (organic veg and fruit, full fat dairy only, purified water, vegetarian,no chemicals in shampoos etc) but wanted to give my eggs the best possible chance as otherwise it would have been a waste of money. I started on 400mg because this is what I read would be best dosage for me. I didn't take any multi-vits (I never have - they only produce expensive pee as my GP and consultant say) as my levels for all these were fine and thats important too.
I read the Natural Fertility Diet, some swear by It Starts with an egg. In my first round I followed everything to a T, my 2nd round I only bothered with Glutathione and Ubiquinol.
If your eggs didn't mature, it may be either the quality or that the does and length of stimms wasn't correct for you.

Thank you for your response.
The doctors have advised on my next cycle the dose will be started at 400. Instead of 200. They also said they should’ve perhaps waited a little longer before taking the eggs out of me. But saying that two eggs were immature. I think it’s a bit of both the dose wasn’t high enough and my egg quality isn’t good.

Sad

Is that 400 of Gonal? Long or short protocol?

Report
Kk82 · 02/03/2019 11:57

400 of buslerlin I think and they will do long protocol.

They initially had me on 300 of menopur and then increased to 400.

But have said they will increase the doses from the start on the next treatment.

Are you definitely sure that you want to stay with this clinic? As you will be paying privately, you now have more choice. It could be worth looking around to see what else is on offer and whether any other clinics would suggest a different treatment plan for you.

Thank you bottomleypottsspots2 for your response. I’ve felt so down Ive not even got out of bed let alone think about going elsewhere. I was with the women’s hospital and thought they were one of the best. Feel confused

KK82 I used Doctors Best/Solgar/Jarrow - it depended on which ones could deliver before mine ran out - wasn't the best at organising myself on this unfortunately. Any form of Ubiquinol is fine. I took 400mg daily. I also took Gluthathione 5mls daily.

I agree with Bottomley - have you checked your clinics success rates?

One thing to note is that there is a difference in the types of ubiquinol out there. Some are water and fat-soluble for better absorption.

Hi Ladies,
I was wondering where the best place (trusted) is to buy Ubiquinol. Does it come in 400mg? Following IVF1 ended in a miscarriage IVF2 none fertilised I am feeling pretty disheartened. Unexplained infertility but seems that now my eggs aren't great. Thanks in advance
