BFP following years of infertility?

Guess I'm looking for some words of comfort or just some kind of hope in all this.
Bit of a background, me and DH have been trying for close to 6 years now. We have gone trough the whole process of investigations with NHS, so far unexplained. We have gone trough 3 rounds of ivf, last one ended in a BFP, however miscarried in week 6. Did not want to go trough IVF again, as body reacted so badly on it. following the failed pregnancy we decided to take a break in trying, been too emotional and too hard on us, so we wanted to go back to basic and not stress too much. We have now decided to get back to it. Will do a hycosy in a month time, have never done anything like that before, have heard so many mixed results, so I guess all I want to see if anyone have had any success stories after such long time of infertility? And also what I might expect from a hycosy?

I tried 9 years and after 5 IVF cycles (3 with donor eggs) DS was finally born in Jan 2018, I got pregnant naturally when he was 8 months despite having an AMH of 2, stage 4 endo an 1 tube. Huge shock as you can imagine! Also had 2 HSGs and both were fine despite me reading the horror stories!

Hi @littlemrsAA - just wanted to put your mind at rest about the hycosy. I had one in the summer and it was absolutely fine, it’s a bit like a smear test but the speculum I had was metal rather than plastic and obviously they have to be a little more ‘strong’ shall we say than with a smear. They use the speculum to open your vagina and cervix to insert a tiny little tube with a camera on the end. I didn’t even feel the little tube going into my uterus to be honest. Then they took the speculum out. Then they squirt a liquid up into your Fallopian tubes from the little tube- some have said this was a little uncomfortable but I had no pain, just a little flutter. It was fascinating to see it on the screen!

Because my DH didn’t come with me, they had one nurse with me the whole time to ‘hold my hand’, which worried me when she turned up(!), but it was fine and I didn’t really need her there.

Best wishes with everything.

I had a hycosy last year. It was totally fine, just a little cramp when the liquid went in. I don't remember any cramping or pain after it either. Good luck

Thanks ladies, sorry took so long to reply.

Always good to hear from others in the same boat or who have been there.

Was hoping for some more clarity following the hycosy (which btw wasn't too bad) but everything looks perfectly fine. Just a slightly pear shaped uterus, which might affect but not hinder conception. So we'll just have to keep on trying for that BFP and maybe we'll be lucky.
