I could Google it but then it become a massive minefield of herbs and vitmains but I was just wondering if anyone can recommend anything in particular that be helpful to take in the approach to IVF? I already take seven seas pre-conception supplement.

Thanks :)

The book 'it starts with the egg' is a good starting point. Any supplements you take might be snake oil, but there are good suggestions in the book about what to take for what 'effect'.

My clinic advised that there is no real need for multi vits unless you have deficiencies, the one that they did want me to take was Folate. I also took Ubiquinol and Glutathione for 3 months.

I second looking at 'it starts with the egg' for supplement ideas.

I did used to take all sorts, but got bored after a while. I just take folic acid with vitamin d and a co-enzyme q10 after reading the book.

The book does mention DHEA and others, but only if you have certain needs (like being older, poor egg quality etc) so they didn't fit what I needed.

Ditto for coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinol. A water and fat-soluble form absorbs better. For DHEA, stay monitored by your doctor as DHEA is a hormone and can affect hormone levels.

Hi there, apologies for jumping on your thread I’ve just been going out my mind trying to come up with the righ programme of supplements in prep for ttc. I’ve got low Amh and after 3 sessions of accupuncture I fell pregnant within 3 weeks of ttc. This resulted in a miscarriage over Xmas and I just had a d&c in a week ago. I desperately want to take the right vitamins and ttc again although I fear I have poor egg quality and so have researched online as you do!
The part that’s throwing me off is dhea and myaonisotol - I don’t have pcos and I think these 2 do different things. Does anyone know anything about them? Would really appreciate your help. I am too taking ubiquinol, pregnacare comception, omega 3 and and extra folic acid tablet. I do have vit c and d and zinc - not sure I need them all? I bought royal jelly but have now decided not to throw another one in the mix! It’s easy to see how you. Plus get fixated on this and don’t want to do that or make others feel that way either! Apologies if I’ve done that!

Whatever you do, do not take folic acid. Make sure any pre-natal has natural folate in it instead.

40% of the population cannot process folic acid in its synthetic form (also added to breads, grains and cereals) and it can have serious consequences on fertility and pregnancy if your body is not able to handle it. You only know if you have been genetically tested.

I take a zita west multi vit with antioxidants (have tried cheaper / other brands but the iron makes me feel queasy); vit d, ubiquinol (been taking for 3 months in prep for 4th round later this month- have poor ovarian reserve - we’ll see if it works!) and an omega fish oil capsule - oh and a folate tablet too (brand is solgar).
