Endometrial thickness for FET

Hi all

I’ve not been here for a while and haven’t often been involved in a lot of threads but I’m really confused about my current FET cycle and wonder if anyone could share their experience with me. 5 years TTC, this is the 2nd of 2 Frosties I’m about to use after my first round of ICSI. It’s taken a long time due to having 3 polypectomys in between.

Anyways at my last scan on Tuesday 27th dec I was advised that my endo lining was 11mm. They said they were looking for more than 7. Following this I started on cyclogest and continued on prognova. I was really surprised that they told me my transfer wouldn’t be until Friday 7th December. Would anyone know why they’re making me wait so long for transfer when my lining is already 11mm? Will it continue to grow thicker? Is it possible the lining will not be that fresh by the time of transfer? Anyone had or heard of any success in similar situation?

Is it a 3 or 5 day embryo? They don't put it back when 'ovulation' happened, but need to time it with the other parts of your cycle.

My lining was 13mm before collection but I wasn't told what it was when embryo transferred 6 days later (day 5 embryo).

Hi physicskate

It’s a 5 day I believe. Collected and frozen 2years ago so not 100% sure on that but referred to as blastocyst I think? Sounds like your lining was pretty thick too. Do you mind me asking what the outcome was?

I'm currently nearly 27 weeks.
Yeah, they can't just put the blast back any time they feel like, but need to put it back at the right time of the 'cycle'.

Thank you physicskate and huge congratulations to you. Sorry for appearing really clueless, these really are questions I should be able to ask the nurses but I kinda feel like I’m just on their conveyor belt of patients. Followed by frantic internet searches to try make sense of what they were talking about! Thanks again Smile

Hey,
When my lining was thick enough they let me pick a date for transfer - I was told by my consultant that I could stay on the progynova for up to 49 days if I wanted...

So it might just be that the clinic are fitting you in at a time that suits their schedule. I wouldn’t worry.

Good luck with it x

Thank you Hana, just wasn’t sure if the lining could become too thick or reduce in quality as time went on. Knowing others have experienced similar waiting times for transfer is reassuring.

I think if it had any kind of negative impact on success rate then they’d have us all come in on a fixed date.

Really, don’t worry :) Take the best care of yourself these next few days, and I hope all goes well on Friday.

I mentioned in another post recently that my consultant told me that laughter every day can help increase success rates (based on a small study) - so do try to keep as positive as you can throughout 😀

Thank you Hana! Smile I’m feeling quite positive and this time round haven’t felt the same impact of the meds as before. Don’t know if the acupuncture is helping with that. I guess all any of us can do is keep trying and hoping! I’ll either be ready to start afresh in 2019 or will have the most amazing Christmas! Do you mind me asking if you’ve had a successful cycle? X

@Mathie2017 glad to read you’re keeping positive - and that you’re dealing better with the meds this time. My second round meds for my FET were much worse for me than my fresh cycle!
Sadly both transfers failed to stick, so we’ve got one more embryo in the freezer for early next year. I’m planning to have some acupuncture too for that. Throwing everything at it as we can’t afford to keep going after this.

Hope you have the Christmas you wish for. Keep us posted 😀 x

Sorry you’ve had a rubbish time of it too. I definitely think the acupuncture helped, might just be a placebo affect but like yourself will try everything. I’m only 4 days past my FET and already want to start testing but so far managing to resist the urge. Hope your wee frostie brings you what you’re wishing for in 2019. Smile

Anything under .7 they won’t do it

Ideally 1.1 and triple layer showing on screen

Once the lining is right thickness the progynova just keeps it at that thickness

I’ve had two fets. ONE failed but the one that worked I was on progynova for an extra 2w due to being on holiday

Usually you start tablets 2mg on day 1-2 of period then up to 4&6 a few days later / clinic will tell you when

Then around day 12 scan and check lining and fet would be day 19/20 of cycle

An era showed I needed more drugs and later transfer date

THIs was my 5th ivf and I always wonder was it successful as had longer on drugs

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. All went very well with my transfer on 7th. They told me it was grade 4AB and were very happy with the lining. I couldn’t fight the urge to do hpt today, 8dp5dt and for the first time in my long 5 years of trying to conceive I have seen that second and very strong BFP!! I’m completely shocked!! I’ll continue taking the 3 progynova tablets each morning and with the cyclogest twice a day for the next 12 weeks! My OTD is Tuesday 18th. Just need to hope wee emby gets comfortable and is happy to stick around for the next 8 months. Smile

Woke up to take my progynova and cyclogest this morning and had some brown spotting Sad I can’t believe I can go from being on such a high last night to such a worried wreck this morning. Having little twinges but definitely doesn’t feel like af pains. It’s not even that the bfp was faint! I definitely wasn’t imagining it! So so worried now Sad
