Iv had a scan last week to check for cysts on the ovarys camw back clear but im booked in to see if i have endometriosis! While in surgery checking for this can they remove it there and then? Or will i have to have another appoiment. Also what treatments are avalible i feel so anxious and down about this but relieved that doctors are doing something about it thank you

If the Endometriosis is only Stage 1-2 they remove it during your Laparoscopy. If it's stage 3-4 then it will be another type of surgery but they won't know until they do the surgery and you won't know until you wake up from the LAP. You're in and out in the same day it's not too drastic

If it's very mild they might as you will have a short theatre slot so it's often just a look around then a bigger op a few months later if needed, I had a one hour exploratory lap where they drained a cyst then 3 months later had a 5 hour lap for extensive excision and tube removal

@user1472487028 not at all. They said to me although I had stage 2 Endo, it wouldn't have caused me to not have a baby

It can often make things harder but if only stage 2 it may not, mine was stage 4 and caused infertility but only as it was advanced, further stages usually involve endometriomas, tubal issues/hydrosalpinx, and premature ovarian failure but the earlier stages don't usually, that said even people with stage 4 can often have no problems TTC

@Lauren83 hope it's all under control for you now! Can't even imagine what you've been through with stage4! I've got a friend with stage 4 and it's on her ovaries bladder and bowel and it's just a nightmare!

Thankyou! To be fair though I didn't suffer too much everyone was shocked when I had the lap how bad it was as I had minimal pain compared to how I was inside, I had a 15cm cyst and swollen tube with hydro and everything stuck together including my bowel, my ovaries were in a mess and I did end up needing donor eggs (then randomly conceived myself when the baby was 9 months) luckily since the surgeries I have been fine and it seems to have stayed away for now

It's fairly common to have tubal blockages with endo and usually during a lap they will do a tubal patency check which can often unblock smaller blockages and clear debris. Hope the op goes well

Oh really so fingers crossed then i hate the long wait! Lol. Just so confusing i think i may have it tho normally my periods are 3-4 days now there 7-8 days quiet heavy and so painful to the point i dread it when my periods coming. But iv been using ovulation tests i always get a postive result on cycle day 8 then another between cycle day 15-19 is that normal lol an thank you x

@user1472487028 you should only get one positive really, usually you just go with the darkest one🤷🏼‍♀️ hope you get sorted soon! It's nice to have the closure about endo once the Lap is done!

I'm also awaiting a lap for the same thing. I've had a lap before and they lasered away the endo while they were in there. Hoping they'll do the same again and they are checking for blocked tubes as well.

Thank you ❤️
I've only spoke about it in real life recently and I was an absolute sobbing mess! I've wanted to be a mum my whole life so it's hard when it's not happening and you see what feels like EVERYONE around you getting preg. I'm glad I've got an op date as it's something to focus on x

@squirrelnutkins1 at least you know what is to come as you've had a LAP before!
It really helps talking about it too doesn't it! Your time will come 💗

Just got my hycosy test done last week and was actually ok during it ( was surprised myself ) and nothing was found , everything was all ok according to the doctor . Which I suppose is good news but then again bit disappointing as was told it’s now straight to ivf waiting list :( .. anyone had the hycosy had nothing wrong and fell pregnant naturally ? Cause I’m crossin my fingers and toes this happens x
