Hey hun,

I am! Well, sorta...

Before I get put on the waiting list, I need to have a BMI or lower than 30! I'm about a stone away from this, but my motivation currently is non-existent and I have been eating non-stop this week! I've got my fat club weigh in on Thursday and it's going to be a disaster 😱😱😱

How are you feeling about things?

xx

Hiya I’m sort of in limbo not on the waiting list yet and don’t k ow how long it is around my area
Just got our appointment for the hospital to do further testing and tell us what treatment we will need. I kind of understand how you feel just waiting and waiting for it to start is really rubbish but just think it’s only about time now to when we are pregnant x

Just about to apply for funding, fingers crossed we get approval.
We're been trying for 2.5 years so we might have to wait another 6-months to apply again or go private.
Did says it's around a 2-4 weeks wait for getting funding approval and then we can pretty much start straight away.
Sorry to hear you've got a year long wait.

@Greekwife i wasnt online past2days ive been crazy busy..im on a diet aswell ! maybe we can try and motivate one another its not on my docs advice ive just wanted a distraction from ttc and felt i needed it to boost my confidence. Ive heard ivf hormones and stuff make you gain alot of weight so im doing it for that aswell. Gd luck with your club keep me updated on how u get on x @Donnas146 the constant waiting is torture isnt it how long have u been ttc? @Mrbay thats gd you wnt have to wait as long still nerve wracking waiting to see if u get funding tho

Oh I didn't know the drugs make you gain weight! I'm still struggling (well not really putting much effort in!) to lose last year's winter weight! I've got a stone to lose, but I just cannot get myself in to gear to change my habits.

I think one the of the various fat clubs are excellent, to keep you motivated and keep going.

@Donnas146 good luck with the further testing. Be prepared for bloods and an internal ultra sound - I didn't know this was going to happen, wish I'd known, I'd have groomed!!
We had our referral back in May and due to me needing to have my endo and tube surgically checked, have only just found out the results of our previous tests.

@2fingers22018 yep, got everything crossed but if they don't approve we'll find out and why, then go from there. If the cost needs to go on the mortgage, we'll do that. At the end of the day, when you leave this earth you can't take anything with you! Plus our clinic does a £11k, 2-year deal thingy so not at much as I thought. I've heard of people paying over £20k to have a baby.

This will make you laugh, my ovulation days this month are when my DH is on exercise, so said child might be conceived in the field - so to speak!! I am so pleased that November temps haven't hit us yet!

PS would be great to keep the thread going, as none of my friends are overly bothered about my TTC and don't have their own DC so it feels a little lonely

Yeah my manager said it makes the ladies go bonkers!
Luckily we get IVF leave but I have a feeling it'll be better for me to be working from home as it's not right to have a PMTing HR Advisor!
Suck doesn't it? It's like a secret hung that no one talks about! I suppose no one wants the world to know that they are at it like rabbits!
Not being dense, exercise is a term for when my DH gets sent to a field to practise military things in a RL situation.

@Mrbay i thought it mightve been military related its always bad timing with ttc isnt it?! Yep me! We’re stuck in limbo!

@mrbay are u applying for military funding out for interest through the armed forces conception service? I only ask as we are a military family too. Currently on our third application after the first two had been declined for the most ridiculous reasons.

@Mrbay hiya Thankyou for the top 😄I have already had an internal scan and blood tests I’ve had 4 blood tests over the past few months and everything has come back looking normal except for prolactin being high but from the last bloods I had they were back to normal, do they normally make you have the tests again at the hospital? As that’s what I was expecting. All the tests I’ve had have been through the gp.
We have been trying for 7 years!! I’m now going crazy lol but relieved we are now investigating my hubby had really bad sperm test results x

Wasn’t really trying for the first 4 years tbh it was a more of not trying not preventing the past two years have been the hardest! It was getting my hubby to have a sperm test done too that took 2 years as he was too scared but I researched and supported him through it x

Mrbay · 15/11/2018 23:22

Yep, just waiting for his DIN and to be able to get his blood sorted and then we are off!
Oh that's rubbish, any particular reasons why?
The only benefit is, we aren't subjected to the postcode lottery as it's 3 full cycles.
Apparently there's support outside of the NHS as the running around isn't great for their bits!

Yep! I might wear paint up so I can blend in! Hopefully he's colleague will cover for 20 mins and we can either nip home or nip in the landy 🤣 so romantic!

I know it's a weird stigma that we have with talking about sex and babies but it's perfectly acceptable for people to ask when you're gonna start a family!!

My pleasure!

I didn't have to repeat any tests that I had already done via the GP. Just had to have my amp (I think that's right) to check my egg count, which is low 2.9 i think. DH had to provide a sample.
My internal showed my endo and a cyst so doc referred me for a laparoscopy to check the endo, cyst and tube test.
I've got a low AMH for my age but tubes are clear and the endo is not bad ATM.
DH is ok but borderline so no idea why I it's not worked yet.
Now we just need to have the all clear on blood based STDs so hep and HIV, then apply for funding.
There's lot that can be done to improve sperm, so don't threat as the lifecycle is only 3-months. Lots of threads here for supplements and life style changes. Make sure he's in cotton loose boxers!

My dh is on Superdrug male fertility supplements and after 3 months it improved his count but only by 1 million it seems such a lot but in sperm counts it’s not lol his first sa was under 2 million and there were only 7 percent moving
After 3 months of not drinking son much and taking the supplements his count was 3 million and his motility was 31 percent moving so it did help just not a massive improvement he did stop for a bit but he’s now back on them and I’m giving conceive plus a go for now while waiting for the appointment. I now it won’t work but no harm still trying I suppose.

@mrsbay feel free to PM me in you want a buddy who knows the score - ish! It’s is VERY common to be declined at least 2 times on application if not more. Make sure you are prepared for this as it’s a real set back. I know in the end it will be worth it but just so tough when you have already jumped through all the hoops! Presumably you have completed the long list of testing already?

It's just such a minefield as they really don't have any concrete methods to help.

Someone on here swears on a tin of tomato soap a day, which can help.

But remember, only one of them needs the right instructions!

I've been doing a little research and others with a similar egg count to me, have been told that donor eggs are the only way forward. I'm not sure how I feel about this at the moment, I'm not sure if I would want to continue forward if it wasn't a part of me. However, I have only given about 15-mins thought on this, so this may change if it becomes a reality

@Mrbay i would like to think in that situation id go ahead with donor eggs but that is very emotional ur partner basically having a child with someone else..but on the other hand if ur carryin them ud have a bond its all soo emotionally draining isnt it?!

Yep! A right mind c**k up!

In our area part of the criteria is knowing your egg count.

Has anyone been updated on their next steps yet?
