I’ll be starting IVF in Dec/Jan. I usually follow the slimming world diet anyhow - I don’t need to lose weight but just find it a healthy way of maintaining my weight. Do you think though that there are choices to be made with the food to eat within a diet plan like this such as how much protein to have or dairy, sugar, processed foods, types of fats and so on. I suppose for my syns I could choose olive oil over a chocolate bar for example or choose to eat more meals with meat? I’m not sure whether to adjust what I do slightly to make sure I get all nutrients I need? Any thoughts or am I over thinking it?

Lots of protein and cut carbs. Did this on my last cycle and had the most amount of blastos I'd ever had. Unfortunately ended in MC though.

@muz2017 - thanks for that. There are days that I eat no meat - that’s just how things go so perhaps I should try to up this...

Avocados are good and nuts, eggs. Organic meat. Whole grain carbs rather than white.

Avoid food wrapped in plastic which is actually quite hard!

Thanks for the tips. What is the thinking behind plastic wrapped food?? Don’t know how I’d manage that!

Something to do with BPA and other chemicals in plastic seeping into the food.

Avoid anything with BPA, phthalates and parabens. This includes many fragrances and personal and cleaning products.

It's explained well in 'It Starts with the Egg'.

I’ve ordered the book so I’ll take a look but isn’t that something that would affect the entire population not just us? And if it has affected us, isn’t it too late to reverse the effects?!

@Saltisford - there is a global decline in the amount of sperm that men produce and the environment has contributed to that, so yes it affects everyone.

I started used SUKRIN shampoo, shower gel and cleaner, toner and moisturiser. Sanex 0 has no parabens in it.

I understand that parabens, BPA and so on are thought to be unhealthy but I never realised there was a link with fertility. Is there a link with female fertility? Over the last few years I’ve made sure I use a BPA free water bottle, tried powered deodarant (not that it was very effective) but to replace all of my food so none is wrapped in plastic seems an impossible feat in today’s society. Has anyone actually managed it?

In terms of protein, I made a good review of my diet yesterday and I definitely think this is achieveable without being overwhelmed...
