Hi all, my first IVF cycle ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks. I have one good frozen embryo left and one wonky one. Had appointment with my consultant today about next cycle and he offered me prednisolone, clexane and aspirin as additional meds to reduce the chance of miscarrying again if I get pregnant. Part of me thinks it's jumping the gun to add two more lots of pills and a lot of jabs to my already full list, when most likely (he said) it was a one-off genetic abnormality with the embryo.
BUT the thought of going through another miscarriage with such high stakes in IVF is just horrendous. I feel like I would pay and do anything to avoid it... which in turn makes me feel like I am vulnerable to upselling! My consultant was really good at being neutral, said the research is not yet there to support it. Have others got experience of making this type of decision? I'd love to hear your views. Thanks!
