Tips ahead of FET/ Acupuncture

Hi there,
I'm due to have FET in October. I had egg retrieval and then a large fibroid removed and am waiting to recover fully. I am almost 3 months post-op.
I will have a hormone regulated cycle as my periods won't have returned. I wonder if my endometrial lining will be thin after my op, although I don't know that yet.
I just wondered if anyone had any tips in terms of preparation for the transfer? I was looking for an acupuncturist affiliated to Zita West but there are none near me in London. Any recommendations? Central London is ideal.
Any other tips or experiences welcome. I have two frozen embryos so want to give myself the best shot. Thanks x

Hi there. I am 18 weeks pregnant following successful FET. This time round, I had acupuncture twice weekly for 2 months before the transfer and then once a week for the first 3 months of pregnancy. I also took various vitamin and other supplements before the transfer to help lining thicken well, and have continued with those which are appropriate for pregnancy.

In previous (unsuccessful) cycles, I did not do either of these things and just took the drugs and baby aspirin as directed by the clinic. Could be coincidence, or the acupuncture/supplements could have helped. I'll never know but am very grateful.

Best of luck with your next cycle.

Hi Wanda

What supplements did you take to thicken your lining? Did they make your period heavier??

I took vitamins B6, B12, C, D, E, omega 3, and L-Arginine. I read various medical studies online about the effect these things have on endometrial lining and worked out daily doses on the basis of those studies (I can't remember what they were now, but I found them by googling "thickening uterus lining").

I also ate Brazil nuts (which I dislike!) and drank pomegranate juice, which I had read helped with lining.

Taking the low dose aspirin once a day also helps - but you should check with your doctor as I think there are some medical conditions where use of aspirin is not recommended.

Oh and no, no difference with period heaviness, though my periods are usually quite heavy anyway.
