2ww torture

I’m now 6dp5dt and have caved and tested this morning. I wish I’d waited a little longer as the test was £8!

I have been studying the test in different lights and I swear I can see the faiiiiintest second line. Am I just hopeful and imagining it?!

Got a few internet cheapies and a couple of first response didgital tests to tide me over the next few days. Which should I use?!

How people manage not to test throughout the 2ww, I’ll never know. It was never going to be me. 😜

I’d use the FR as clearblue and other blue dye tests are notorious for false positives in the form of feint blue lines.

Ah thanks @MyNameisJune - I did try and get one yesterday but they were all sold out. Will try look somewhere else today. x

Langpants this wait is bloody killing me! Was just about to start another thread on this so am glad you have. I am really going through it; yesterday I bled quite a lot but then stopped (and it hasn't come back.) This morning I took a test as wanted to know what the hell is going on and it was negative. So DH and I have resigned ourselves to this not working.

Then this morning I spoke to the clinic as I need some more drugs (even though I feel like I should stop taking them as I don't think this has worked) and they said not to give up hope as the drugs should hold off a bleed!! SO confused, but not optimistic.

It's killing me all this!!

Hang in there!

@Jenbot78, glad I'm not alone. I've just bought 4 First Response tests off Amazon to arrive tomorrow.

I haven't had any bleeding and that made me think it wasn't working either! Lol. I heard the drugs hold off a bleed too. Are you 7dpt today?

I think it's way too early for both of us. I was not born with patience...

You hang in there too! :)

Thanks for this, can't really work out what the hell is going on. My cramps are quite bad this evening, but still no blood. Waiting for ac ouple of days before I test again...

@Jenbot78 - I have cramps that feel like period pains but only on my right side. I keep thinking that whatever I’m feeling is normal and that it’s just this emby doing its thing.
Hopefully all is going to plan for us both. X

Langpants love your positivity 😀 is helping me! Did you test today?

Report
Langpants · 31/08/2018 13:53

@Jenbot78 - yes. Ha ha. Negative as expected. Although it was with an internet cheapie. Women around Bristol must be testing like crazy as everywhere seems to be sold out!
I cannot stop testing now. :) My First Response tests arrived today so will test again in the morning.

You?

Hey all, mind if I join?

I’m currently 3dp5dt so just at the start of the agonising 2ww. I’m trying desperately not to symptom spot after my last failed cycle but I can’t help it! So far I’ve been extremely thirsty, had a headache for two days straight and and brown discharge this morning which has now stopped. I’m trying to pass these off as side effects of tablets or bleeding from the egg transfer ... but I can’t help pinning some hope onto them...!

I haven’t bought any tests yet because if I buy tests in, I know I won’t be able to resist!

Hi @Elly1685 - welcome! Is this your second round of IVF? This is my first. Trying to stay positive that it'll work first time, but I know it's not that easy.

I feel like there's lots of activity happening in my lower abdomen... pinching, pulling, popping! I don't think I've experienced this before and it's not like period pains. I also haven't experienced it until yesterday at 6dpt.

Can't believe I'm only on day 7 today. Confused

Welcome Elly to the madhouse 😂. I have just bought a clear blue digital. I will test on Sunday at 10 dp 5 dt. I still don’t know what my random bleeding was at 6 days. Cramps less extreme today but nothing on the sore boob front, just bloated and cramps and menstrual feeling. Keeping everything crossed for all of us!!!

Langpants · 31/08/2018 19:14

Ooh @Jenbot78 - got everything crossed for you and a BFP! Just remember, even if it's a bfn, it 'ain't over 'til the fat lady sings. Disheartening yes, but we still have time for lazy late implanters to show up.
I'm going to test tomorrow morning (8dpt) and Sunday. Lol. x

It sounds like you are both having really positive signs! Fx for both of you!! Test day will soon come round. This is my first cycle - I’ve had one failed fresh and this is my first FET.

Had a massive nightmare on transfer day - had 6 day 5’s frozen and 1 day 6. So 4 day 5’s failed during the thawing. The embryologist rang me each time - what a depressing day!! I almost threw my phone out of the window! So they thawed the day 6 one and it was fine. I have 2 day 5’s left but don’t know if they are any good! Argh x

Langpants · 31/08/2018 21:27

@Elly1685 - I'm in a very similar position. I had 8 frozen 2 dayers from 2 years ago. Most were excellent quality. They thawed them all to grow to day 5, but they were slow to develop. On transfer day, I only had one good one to put back.

Fast forward two days of growth, and they only managed to refreeze one good 5 day embryo, and decided to refreeze 2 others that didn't meet the freezing standards. They made the decision because of my history of breast cancer and chemo. They said if they survived the thaw, that they'd recommend putting both back at the same time.

So I'm really hoping this little one sticks! I'm not so keen on all the medicating again if it doesn't work. It's been vile. I say that, but I'm so keen to have a baby, I'll do it all again. Confused

It’s so difficult isn’t it - it just feels like constant hurdles doesn’t it! I’m sure it will work out for all of us. It just needs to be the right time I guess! Good luck with your test tomorrow! I’ll have everything crossed for you!

Elly yes so tough and definitely not for the faint hearted. I have been bleeding again this morning so not really optimistic. Just want to regroup and move on from this cycle!!

BFN this morning. Staying positive though! @Jenbot78 - sorry you're worried with the bleeding. Sending hugs. Xx

@lang, it’s still very early for you I guess. Are you going to test again tomorrow?

@jen, try and stay positive (easier said than done, I know) you’re not out just yet, and I’ve read on loads of forums about people having bleeds and still getting their bfp so there’s still hope! X

Langpants · 01/09/2018 11:10

@Elly1685 - not sure. There wasn't even the faintest of lines! So frustrating. There are loads of people out there that get faint positives at the least by 8dpt. There is so much going on in my lower abdomen, if I'm not pregnant - what on Earth is all the pulling, pinching and bubbly/fluttery feelings? It's not normal for me.
