Welcome clomiphene citrate people!

Come and chat about all things Clomid.

I'm Alice
33 years old
TTC#1
Cycle 31

Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

Scared, excited, nervous.

Join in.

Picked up my script today. Cycle day 2. Going to take it tonight to hopefully sleep through some side effects.

Been meaning to jump on and say hi, I had my first round of Clomid this month, af due Sunday so we will see how well it worked for me..

Taking the tablet at night sounds like a good idea and will hopefully ease any side effects you may get. Good luck!

Hi!

Fingers crossed for Sunday!!

How did you find the side effects?

I suffered quite badly with hot flushes, especially during the night, the first few days I got a headache a few hours after taking my tablet apart from I didn't really suffer from anything else

@Peggyssue Glad you didn't get anything too bad. I woke up last night with hot flushes and feel a bit nauseous this morning, but overall it is nothing major. Yet!

How many cycles have you been prescribed? I'm on 50mg for 3 months, 21 day blood test to see if it has worked this cycle.

3 months, however unlike lots of people I’m not having any monitoring which is annoying so I’m just relying on using olvulation tests, I got a definitive positive this month so I’m just hoping and praying with everything that af doesn’t turn up on the weekend.

How long have you been ttc?

Massive fingers crossed for you. Are you going to test on Sunday?

Yeah loads of people seem to get scans to see when the egg is being released, guess it's expensive on the NHS.

DH and I are just going to DTD as much as possible around the middle of my cycle. I give up with ovulation tests, they're never accurate for me.

2.5 years 😒

I got 42 on progesterone day 21 blood test. Dr keeps saying be optimistic. Does anyone know if that's enough to sustain pregnancy? 30years old been trying for 16months. 😔

I'm sorry I don't know :( I'd generally say though that Drs don't tend to give false hope out if they can help it.

Huge fingers crossed for you

No side effects here so far apart from feeling sick the first morning. I take my last pill tonight, so better get on with DTD!

Hi I'm new to mumsnet. Have been TTC for 1 year with PCOS and completed my first cycle on 50mg clomid this month. I had exciting news that my 21 day progesterone was 81 (

@trimhealthymama Sounds like it is all going well! 11dpo is waaay early. Don't piss on anymore £5 notes and wait a few more days. Hard though I know.

Great progesterone levels! Mine was 14 last month 🤔

AF reared it's ugly head today, bang on time. So that's cycle one out. I was on holiday on the day 19-24 so couldn't have the 21 day blood test. Just going to continue next cycle and hope for the best.
Over 2.5 years trying now. Pretty gutted.

I’m starting Clomid tomorrow 50mg cd2. Pretty nervous tbh. I’ve got one child (age 11, no problems conceiving) and have been ttc (same partner) for more than 4yrs. Have really irregular periods, from 26-49day cycles! Take metformin, when I remember, and my cycles have become a bit more regular, but still not getting pregnant. Really really hope this works, we would love another baby.

More accepting I think, cycle day 2 today so I'll start 2nd round of Clomid tonight. No caffeine this morning, going to throw everything at this cycle.
