Welcome clomiphene citrate people!

Come and chat about all things Clomid.

I'm Alice
33 years old
TTC#1
Cycle 31

Had all the tests and finally got the go-ahead today (a prescription and letter in the post!) So bit of a surprise. Will be starting on CD2 in about 4 days time hopefully.

Scared, excited, nervous.

Picked up my script today. Cycle day 2. Going to take it tonight to hopefully sleep through some side effects.

Peggyssue Wed 30-May-18 18:12:32

Been meaning to jump on and say hi, I had my first round of Clomid this month, af due Sunday so we will see how well it worked for me..

Taking the tablet at night sounds like a good idea and will hopefully ease any side effects you may get. Good luck!

AliceScarlett Wed 30-May-18 18:45:11

Hi!

Fingers crossed for Sunday!!

How did you find the side effects?

Peggyssue Thu 31-May-18 10:19:52

I suffered quite badly with hot flushes, especially during the night, the first few days I got a headache a few hours after taking my tablet apart from I didn't really suffer from anything else

AliceScarlett Thu 31-May-18 13:04:57

@Peggyssue Glad you didn't get anything too bad. I woke up last night with hot flushes and feel a bit nauseous this morning, but overall it is nothing major. Yet!

How many cycles have you been prescribed? I'm on 50mg for 3 months, 21 day blood test to see if it has worked this cycle.

Peggyssue Thu 31-May-18 20:11:37

3 months, however unlike lots of people I’m not having any monitoring which is annoying so I’m just relying on using olvulation tests, I got a definitive positive this month so I’m just hoping and praying with everything that af doesn’t turn up on the weekend.

How long have you been ttc?

AliceScarlett Thu 31-May-18 21:01:34

Massive fingers crossed for you. Are you going to test on Sunday?

Yeah loads of people seem to get scans to see when the egg is being released, guess it's expensive on the NHS.

DH and I are just going to DTD as much as possible around the middle of my cycle. I give up with ovulation tests, they're never accurate for me.

2.5 years 😒

I got 42 on progesterone day 21 blood test. Dr keeps saying be optimistic. Does anyone know if that's enough to sustain pregnancy? 30years old been trying for 16months. 😔

AliceScarlett Sat 02-Jun-18 17:20:45

I'm sorry I don't know sad I'd generally say though that Drs don't tend to give false hope out if they can help it.

Huge fingers crossed for you

AliceScarlett Sun 03-Jun-18 17:42:40

No side effects here so far apart from feeling sick the first morning. I take my last pill tonight, so better get on with DTD!

trimhealthymama Thu 07-Jun-18 15:03:26

Hi I'm new to mumsnet. Have been TTC for 1 year with PCOS and completed my first cycle on 50mg clomid this month. I had exciting news that my 21 day progesterone was 81 (<1 in previous months prior to clomid) and had a positive opk and timed BD pretty well. I'm 11dpo and have been feeling very tired, lots of occasional twinges and feeling dizzy at times. Have had BFN so far with first response early detection. Feeling very tearful and emotional as I had convinced myself that this was THE month but it seems unlikely. Any advice?

AliceScarlett Thu 07-Jun-18 21:44:11

@peggysue any news?

AliceScarlett Thu 07-Jun-18 21:46:20

@trimhealthymama Sounds like it is all going well! 11dpo is waaay early. Don't piss on anymore £5 notes and wait a few more days. Hard though I know.

Great progesterone levels! Mine was 14 last month 🤔

moodance Thu 07-Jun-18 21:50:18

Hi girls ..., just thought I would post as I saw the thread ... after 3 months we got pregnant... currently 27 weeks .... good luck all x

AliceScarlett Thu 07-Jun-18 21:51:36

Aw @moondance that's wonderful! Bit of good news just at the right time. Thanks so much. How long were you trying for before you fell pregnant?

moodance Thu 07-Jun-18 22:37:26

Roughly a year ... x

AliceScarlett Mon 25-Jun-18 07:34:40

AF reared it's ugly head today, bang on time. So that's cycle one out. I was on holiday on the day 19-24 so couldn't have the 21 day blood test. Just going to continue next cycle and hope for the best.
Over 2.5 years trying now. Pretty gutted.

MysteriousSheep Mon 25-Jun-18 23:19:59

I’m starting Clomid tomorrow 50mg cd2. Pretty nervous tbh. I’ve got one child (age 11, no problems conceiving) and have been ttc (same partner) for more than 4yrs. Have really irregular periods, from 26-49day cycles! Take metformin, when I remember, and my cycles have become a bit more regular, but still not getting pregnant. Really really hope this works, we would love another baby.

AliceScarlett Tue 26-Jun-18 08:16:14

Good luck mysterious 🐑, hope Clomid gets you ovving

MysteriousSheep Tue 26-Jun-18 09:08:36

Thank ewe! Best of luck to everyone else on this thread too

tinyradish Tue 26-Jun-18 18:53:49

Hi, due to start Clomid soon too! Currently taking provera to (hopefully) induce a period. I'm CD123...

How are you getting on now AliceScarlett?

AliceScarlett Wed 27-Jun-18 08:49:42

More accepting I think, cycle day 2 today so I'll start 2nd round of Clomid tonight. No caffeine this morning, going to throw everything at this cycle.

tinyradish Wed 27-Jun-18 10:51:46

Good luck! Hope it's your lucky cycle.
