Hi ladies, just wondered if anyone wants to hold hands as we go through a cycle?

After a failed fresh cycle earlier this year, I’m starting my progynova today with a planned FET for May.

Would love some company x

Yes please! It's my first cycle. I start burserelin early next week I expect. Short protocol so egg collection meant to be w/c 30th May. I'm old so chances are low! X

Hello again @Summerloving17 !

We're on the same schedule for second time round!

I had an endometrial scratch this morning and first injection of buserlin - fresh cycle number 2 for me.

Hopejnf for some better quality embryos this time - I'm on a whole host of supplements and DH is having surgical retrieval this time so I hope it makes the much needed difference!

I'm expecting egg collection 7th May - last time the group really helped so very up for some hand holding!

Hope you've fared ok since February xxx

Hi everyone,
I am also due to start stimming next week for my second attempt. Can't say I'm looking forward to injecting again!
Wishing you all a successful cycle x

@HappyHedgehog Welcome! My friend just had a first time ivf success at 41 whereas mine failed (34) so age isn’t everything! Everything crossed for you!

@hoping2018 hopefully this is second time lucky for us both!! It sounds like you have got quite a lot of enhancements this time round so I really hope it does the trick! How are you feeling?

@yorkshirelass, I feel exactly the same! This time I’ve got these progesterone ones that I didn’t have before and are meant to be so painful- not fun!!

Fingers crossed for us all!! X

Hi, hoping I can join you ladies. I had egg collection last month for 1st attempt icsi, that resulted in a freeze all due to OHSS. Eagerly awaiting next af to have a natural FET. Hanging on in there as I don’t know when it’s going to come, as I had prostap injection to down reg x

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining. I had a back to back stimulation cycles at the end of last year and early this year and just getting ready for my FET.
@Summerloving17, I'm not too far behind you. I'm off to the clinic tomorrow for my baseline scan and hopefully a green light to start progynova. Can't believe it's almost time! Scary and excited.
Wishing everyone much success on your journeys.

Ah wonderful to have lots of company! @kjackson and @windy welcome! Hopefully this is a lucky thread!

@Southernbella good luck today! Is this your first FET?
What medication are you on? I’ve just started 4 progynova a day so hoping the side effects aren’t too bad!! Just had to take norhisterone to start a period and it made me so depressed!!

Not sure if I should be joining... in a bit behind you guys in that not sure when we're starting... either may 10 ish or sometime in June. I'm on short protocol and have our consent appointment April 25.

Also I'm in Yorkshire, so thought you might be knowledgable about what's what up here @yorkshirelass!!

Yes let’s hope it’s a lucky thread for all!

@physicskate - hope you get your start as soon as possible. The saga of infertility is a total waiting game and I’m sure you’ve been waiting for long enough already! Bet you’re getting excited that things are moving forward x

I am. It feels like we might have a chance. But I'm not expecting much. I'm trying to see the first round as a trial run as I think they learn a lot about you and how you respond. Seems a waste of nhs money because they haven't really done any tests on me, but I suppose ivf gets around the problems that most of the tests find anyway (no hsg, hycosy, lap etc...).

Someone said I should expect to start in may if all that's between now and then is consent, but I'm not even sure if we have funding or how that works!! So low expectation, even about when it will start.

@physicskate - it’s so tough isn’t it? Trying to stay positive but not get your hopes up in order to protect yourself from disappointment. My hubby is all about positive, mental attitude and has banned me from being a negative nelly!

@summerloving17 - hoping all goes well with your meds. Do you have any idea of a date for fet?

SouthernBella74 · 13/04/2018 17:40

@Summerloving17, thanks for the good luck wishes. I got the green light to start meds tomorrow. I'll be taking Progynova (3x orally + 2x vaginally) and Clexane, so should be interesting. Hmm How are you taking Progynova?

Yes, this is my first transfer of any kind! I'm excited to get started, but also nervous about my response to all the meds. So far on this IVF journey, I've been lucky and not had any side effects...well, except for the nasal spray which I'm sure is why AF was so late this month. I have to keep taking it until they say stop.

@windy2909, definitely hoping this is a lucky thread for us all! Star

Welcome @physicskate!

@Southernbella, I’m on progynova tablets x4 that’s it! Then I have a scan on 25th April to see if I need to add patches or if lining is thick enough. It’s strange how different each clinics protocols are! What is the nasal spray for?

@windy, I’m hoping for a transfer first week of May but will depend if my lining thickens up enough by 25th April, if not I imagine it will be delayed. I’m going back to work on 7th May so ideally wanted it beforehand (I took some time out as a “sabbatical” to have my fresh cycle) xx

@Summerloving17, you're only taking prohynova?!?! Shock I must have hit the jackpot with meds then...Hmm Yeah, so strange with the different protocols. They tell me the buserelin nasal spray is to prevent cysts and suppress some hormones. I didn't take it during my stimulation cycles, so it's all new.

I go back for a scan on the 25th as well, to see how things are going. I'll get the second part of my med schedule then and hopefully transfer on 1 May...fingers crossed.

So, we may be in the 2WW at the same time if all goes well. Exciting! Smile

Summerloving17 · 13/04/2018 19:32

@Southernbella ah I probably don’t need that as I’m naturally in a menopausal state due to lack of hormones! If all goes well for both of us on 25th we might be on exactly the same schedule then!

You two ladies are in sync! Hope scans on 25th show great results! My clinic didn’t offer me medicated fet, only natural. Just going with it, as new to it all and they know best. Just have to see at it goes. I am just eager to get on, as as yet I have had no wee embryo inserted back inside me x

@Summerloving17, I do hope things go to plan, but I've learnt to not get too attached to dates as who knows how they'll body will respond to meds until everything starts...

@windy2909, I don't even know if my clinic offers natural FET, but I think due to my age, they want as much control over things as possible...

I got pregnant naturally around this time last year, but unfortunately it ended in a MMC at 7wks, so really hoping this one sticks x

@southernbella - sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been tough. Wow....you did two cycles back to back? That must have been pretty intense!

Report
Summerloving17 · 14/04/2018 09:54

@windy if I had the hormones I would have gone for a natural FET, so fed up of drugs!! Have worked out I’ve done over 200 injections in the last two years now 🤦‍♀️

@southernbella I know what you mean the dates, it took me 6-7 weeks of menopur each cycle just to grow one egg for my iui and each time I went back I would get disheartened. Sorry about your miscarriage but a good sign you can get pregnant! I had an ectopic last year after my iui and definitely not a nice experience!

@windy, yes, I had 2 ICSI stim cycles back to back. Well, with a NET cycle in between. It was suggested because of my age and AMH, so we wanted to try to get as many eggs as possible for PGS testing. It wasn't actually that bad, as I luckily didn't have any bad side effects from the meds. But fitting in all the scans and bloods was a little challenging....

@Summerloving, yes, we were surprised at how quickly we fell pregnant last time. The miscarriage was very hard, as I was really hoping not to be a statistic, but once I came to terms with it, it gave me hope for the future.

I've been out and about today. So happy that the sun decided to make an appearance today...at least down in London! Hopefully proper summer isn't far behind. Smile

@summerloving - bless you! Hope all of those injections will be worthwhile very soon!

@southernbella - good one you! If you don’t mind me asking - did you manage to get a good number of frozen embryos? Feel free not to answer if I’m being too nosy!

I feel (and hope) that af may be on its way quite soon. The sooner the better, as I just want to get going! X

@windy, whilst they collected a decent number of eggs, only 2 developed to blast. But they both tested normal, which was a wonderful, wonderful surprise. I just have to try and remain positive about the outcome Star

We are due to commence our first cycle when my cycle starts so around the 2nd of May. Ordered my stims and now waiting to have a day 2 scan so that I can receive my full stims protocol. We are also having ICSI with surgical sperm retrieval. Right now just doing what I can to get myself into the best possible shape to give the IVF a fighting chance
