New baby in family, feeling so sad

I met my new DN today. She's 2 weeks old and beautiful. I've come home and I'm crying my eyes out.

Found myself welling up just a little when I held her. She's so perfect and I'm so happy for DB and SiL but feeling so sorry for myself. I'm shocked at how I feel - I haven't felt like this for a long time. So jealous and sad.

Sorry, I'm not expecting replies, just needed to get that out and not sure who in real life I can say it to.

Thanks for reading xx

Thanks OP, I'm so sorry.
You sound very sad indeed. It's totally understandable. Be kind to yourself.

FlowersCakeits ok to feel this way. It is natural and ok. It doesn't make you a bad person. It will pass in a while so don't repress the feeling. You are allowed to feel this way. Well done for your kind heart and kindness to DN.

Thank you for your replies.

You'd think after 10 years this kind of thing would get easier. We've had so many babies born into the family in that time - first, second and third kids and not one for me - that I'm surprised that this one has caught me out.

So sorry to read this. Sending you big hugs. It's good of you to keep on engaging with all the family, babies etc though it must be so hard. I know it's easier said tha done, but be kind to yourself as the other emotions pass through. You sound really lovely.xx 💐
