If you have high NK cells, are there any symptoms besides miscarriage/ivf failure?

I read on the zita west website that they look into nk cells if patients have endometriosis or psoriasis. I have both and tested as elevated for nk cells.

My first fresh transfer failed but am now almost 7 weeks pregnant after taking prednisolone before and alongside my frozen cycle. We had been ttc for 18 months.

Do you have a link to that site? Thank you and I’m happy your IVF was successful :)

My only symptom was that I rarely got ill - the usually office colds would bypass me

I also had (have) thyroid issues and a thyroid autoimmune condition, which is symptomatic of a mis-functioning immune system, as are NK cells issues
The two often go hand in hand...

It's worth looking into then. I don't know if it helped me get pregnant. Over the past 18 months we've had issues with morphology, endometriosis and ovulation. When the first transfer failed my consultant seemed surprised as it was a 5aa embryo.

But maybe I did need the steroids. I would definitely look into it as there could be a link.

My oh had a similar conversation with colleague last night whose wife has had multiple implantation failures and has psoriasis.

Fingers crossed for you xx

From what I heard, elevated NK cells are often linked to other autoimmune conditions (as mentioned above). I've also read about ladies getting cold or flu-like symptoms after transfers.

Sorry if I sound daft, but is lack of catching colds etc a symptom of NK Cells? Just wondering as funnily enough I never get colds or illnesses either... my family were plagued with flu and Noravirus and I was fine despite living in the same house! I have high stage Endometriosis though and knew NK cells could be part of that.

@Ging78 please can I ask what the process and rough cost of getting the NK cells tested and diagnosed was at Zita West please?

Hi

I wasn't diagnosed at vita west. I just looked at their website.

I had had a failed fresh embryo transfer ave asked my consultant if I could take more tests. He sent me for the nk cells test.
