Hello!

Just found out we will be starting our first embarkation into ivf in January!

Excited, nervous and looking for anyone in a similar position.....,

Feel free to join!

I’m 34 low amh low afc and partner 0% morphology! What a joyful mix! 🙌

Hi @planegazer

I can certainly join you on that one - I’m 31 trying for number one and starting ICSI in January due to MFI but my AMH is only 8 and AFC 9 so have diminished ovarian reserve. Sounds pretty similar to you. - what are your numbers?

We could have got started in December if we hadn’t had a holiday planned which is frustrating but also a very very needed holiday and a positive start to the new year starting ICSI I guess.

Hopefully we can share stories - my injections start the 4th x

Hi claire that’s not bad amh and afc! Mine are 2.9 and 2 🙈🙈

I’ve got my book in appt for the 3rd jan where they teach you to inject not sure when I start all the drugs though. Will find out soon hopefully! I’ve to call the clinic when my period starts around 18th dec to start plans.

Any idea on what will happen?! Have you been taught to inject yet?!

How are you feeling about it all? I’m overwhelmed just now. Just want to be on my own to process it all.

A lovely holiday in December will be just what you need- go into all super chilled out! Where are you off to?

My periods are really regular so they’ve given me a whole plan up until February and taught me to inject already (I live quite far from the clinic so trying to minimise visits too!)

Can’t wait for the holiday - off to Mauritius which is a complete treat and being looking forward to it for ages!

I’ve got a friend with an AMH of 4 and she got an embryo to transfer and one for the freezer so there’s hope yet!

Sorry got cut off.... so far I don’t seem to be able to tell anyone without sobbing - going to have to get better at that but me and my partner are doing well within ourselves. How are you finding it all?

Eeek that will be an amazing holiday!!!

I’m not too far from the clinic I’m in London so not bad, how far are you?

I’m also really regular but I think the way the dates have fallen it won’t be until mid jan I start my injections.

It was so much to take in today. I’ve just been quite teary after putting a brave face on all day at work.

It’s going to be an emotional rollercoaster. I need to think of new hobbies to keep my head occupied!!!

It’s about an hours drive so would rather not go unless necessary. What sort of regime will you be in? I start day 21 of the cycle before (I assume that’s down regulating??)

Yeah I’ve decided to skip days at work when I have scans etc as I’ll be an emotional wreck. Work have been sweet about it though and found out they’ve had to do it twice before in the last year so I’m def. not alone in needing IVF! Hope your work are nice about it too.

Glad there’s someone in a similar boat - let me know how you’re getting on as we get nearer x

I actually don’t know! It was all explained but I was in a bit of a daze. They are posting everything to us next week so will know more then 😊

That’s great your work have been really accommodating. I’m only planning on taking days off for EC and ET. I’m a nightmare when left alone in my own head so being at work will be a welcome distraction.

Definitely let’s check in nearer the time! x

Sorry to here you’ve had to go through it all before @BeHereNow31 - statistically you must be getting closer to success though Smile

Holiday was booked many many months ago with the idea we’d either still be trying and desperate to get away or it could be a babymoon (picked as zika free!) unfortunately it’s the first! Either way so pleased to have it now!

Any tips for us beherenow? What’s your story? X

Hi be hope you are doing ok. Have they given any reason for the failed first 2?

Hope you are being kind to yourself x

Hi again!

I have an appointment next week to discuss my failed cycle. So, maybe they will look at reasons then. I had a thin lining, so this is something that I will ask about.

As for tips... just look after yourself and try relax. It’s so emotionally draining.
Physically, I found it ok. Sore head and hot flushes during the down regg, and tiredness during the stims.
You will Defo need time off for EC. But I found the actual procedure ok. Slept all the way through and then went home to sleep.

I thought that I would try a very healthy diet for the 3 months between my failed cycle, and next one... but not sure how well I have done (or if it even makes a difference!!)

We have male factor (azoospermia)... so my cycles and everything else seems ok. So I thought it would happen first cycle, but that’s so rare.

How are you both feeling about it all happening? The injections etc xx

Thanks for the info be that’s really helpful.

I’m just worried about the impact on my work, I’m transferring to a new company and they are unaware of my situation......

I think I’ll be ok injecting myself, I’m on a hefty dose of stims so my hormones might be all over the place!

Also trying to be healthy and only have the odd alcoholic drink 😆 urgh!!!!

I really want to lose a stone before I start my ivf cycle..... wanting to and doing something about it are 2 different things! 🤔

Hi @BeHereNow31 how did your appointment go last week to discuss the failed cycle? Hopefully fairly well?

My last few periods have got super light - anyone have my ideas of having icsi\ivf regulates that - I.e prepared the lining? I literally only need about three mini tampons for the whole thing - not sure if that is my premature ovarian failure causing problems or my thyroid trouble - but that's relatively well controlled. Beherenow you mentioned your lining in your post - did the clinic comment on this at all?

X

Sorry claire I didn’t realise that you had posted, asking me questions.

So, the appointment was fine. We will keep all the same treatment next time. The doctor just reassured us that it can take several tries, unfortunately.

He was happy with my lining thickness, and says anything over 6mm is fine (I was just over that). They will measure your lining when you get a scan, to make sure it’s thick enough. During my FET I was given oestrogen tablets to thicken. During fresh it happened naturally.

Only a few weeks left until it all starts again! How is everyone feeling? I’m dreading it... not the actual process, just the emotional stress 😔 is anyone doing anything for stress? I really don’t fancy accupuncture, but wondering if massage is a good way to help x

And welcome Aly. I didn’t take the pill last time, as I’ve had migraines in the past. But think it makes you feel like everything is getting started earlier! X
