Timeline for natural FET?

I'm undergoing a natural cycle fet. The plan is scan on cd 8, at some point after then I'll use a trigger shot and start progesterone. I have 2 average quality 5 day embryos frozen. I was wondering when (what CD) the embryo transfer is likely to be? I need to plan excuses with work and friends as to my absences. I'm having the FET in the Czech Republic. Can anyone share any natural FET experiences?

No experiences to share but a 5 day blast needs to go back 5 days after ovulation.

Hi Wifeandstepmum

I too am in midst of a natural cycle with FET (donor egg) in Czech Republic. I had a medicated transfer cancelled 2 weeks ago after cyst formation in lining whilst I was having CD12 scan.
I have sort of pushed for natural cycle this time after speaking with consultant at private appointment at Nuffield. She had said as I had a very regular 24 day cycle it's what she would recommend if I was her patient.
My Czech clinic seem happy to conduct natural cycle but like you have advised trigger shot and progesterone. I am SO confused now as thought whole point of a "natural cycle" was that the minimum of medications were used?!?!
I like you have not shared my treatment with friends and work colleagues so am nervous also at how much short notice I'm going to have to dash over to Czech without anyone noticing!!!

Has your clinic suggested a natural cycle? Have you had any previous treatments there?

Hello! I have not long had my 2nd FET (non medicated this time) I called up my clinic day of ovulation which was day 18 of my cycle (I used ov sticks to confirm the surge) my cycle is anywhere between 32-36 days! I was then booked in for my transfer 5 days later. It was so easy & much less stress on my mind & body using no drugs what so ever. I have just had my BFP after a long 2WW. I have been advised no extra progesterone is needed as my own body will produce this naturally because no drugs have been used to suppress anything. Good luck ladies & if you are able to do FET with no drugs I strongly advise you give it a go! We are currently waiting for a scan to see if our TWO day 5 embryos have stuck. We are really Hoping so! Xx

Yes, the natural cycle means you don't down regulate, so less medication in that way. The trigger is to ensure that ovulation happens when necessary so the embryo can be placed back exactly 5 days after. Progesterone is to help support the embryo and reduce the chance of miscarriage in case of a luteal phase issue.

We are likely doing natural FET after our failed fresh transfer and waiting a hysteroscope. Good luck to you.

I have done natural FETs with no trigger or progesterone (used ovulation test sticks to determine when ovulation occurs) then changed clinic and did a FET with trigger and progesterone, which resulted in my 8 month old. Personally I'd go for trigger and progesterone every time!

OP, it will depend on when you have a large enough follicle and thick enough lining for them to trigger. My transfer was (I think) 7 days after the trigger shot. Good luck!
