How long do I have to wait until I can have a bath after egg retrieval?

I genuinely don't know if this is a stupid question or not...
I'm a first time IVFer & had my egg retrieval on Thursday (3 days ago) & I was told no baths & no hot water bottles but I forgot to ask how long that stipulation lasts for. I can't stop thinking about a long soak in the bath; it's taunting me every time I go to the bathroom 😂
All advice welcome...

I wouldn't at all, you don't want to risk infection, presumably you're having embryo transfer in couple of days? Then after that it's still no baths I think. Mind you, I last had a bath about 20 years ago! I envy people that have the time! 😁 good luck x

Depends why they said that? If it's infection, personally I think a hot bath is ok now before the embryo(s) go back in. Presumably your bath is nice and clean, maybe no bubbles, should be no meaningful risk of infection. Like above poster says, it'll be the last one for a while probably :-)
If it's due to the hot temp risk, I can't see there's any risk to having a hot bath while there's no embryos in there.

But the key is not to do anything you're likely to look back on and blame if the cycle doesn't work...

I was told no baths till after 12w

Risk of infection and tbh if you get told something after spending thousands of pounds on ivf thenyou listen and obey 😁

Thanks for the feedback. On reflection I think I'm going to play it safe & resist temptation, that way if the cycle fails it won't be due to my stupidity.
