We have relocated from the conception board where we were previously chatting under the thread 'ttc for 10 months or more'. A lot of us are now long term ttc-ers and are going through infertility treatment or looking to take steps in this direction so we feel this might be a more suitable home for us!

Feel free to stop by and say hi and hopefully we can share the journey together and make it a little easier along the way!

Hi I'm blue

Age 31
Ttc for 26 months
First round of ICSI - bfn
2nd round of ICSI - just got my first EVER bfp a couple of days ago. Going to hang around until it's a bit more real!

NoImBridgetJones · 30/06/2017 16:59

I'm Bridget

Age: 29
TTC: 20 cycles
Never yet seen a BFP
Diagnosis: Diminished Ovarian Reserve Sad +/ Unexplained
First IVF scheduled for August, high dose antagonist cycle.
I've lurked on here for ages but have often felt too down in the dumps to join in! Oh I'm English living in Republic of Ireland so, although I expect things are largely similar, there may be a few things they do differently here.

Name: just
Age: 34
TTC for 3 years
Unexplained then mfi then back to unexplained Hmm
Just got my first ever bfp after 1st round of ivf. Feeling very fortunate.

geeup · 30/06/2017 18:13

Hi everyone.
I'm Geeup.
Ttc for around 2 years (cycle 27/28? Lost count!)
First cycle IVF March 2017 - bfn
Second cycle IVF started June 2017 - currently stimming
Never had even a sniff of a bfp. We were MFI but now seem to be unexplained. I have a fibroid on the outside of my womb that they say isn't an issue but I wonder Hmm

meadowlark3 · 30/06/2017 18:22

Hi everyone
I'm Meadow
TTC 18 months, we have mild MFI and couldn't see my right tube on the hycosy
One miscarriage, one ectopic, and one lost tube (the right one)
Due to start IVF when I fell with the ectopic, now back in the queue and due to start DR next month. Dreadfully nervous about that!

Glad everyone found the new thread. How are you all doing this weekend?

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 01/07/2017 16:39

I feel horrendous Sad. Have felt sick and totally exhausted since last Sunday. I never imagined I would feel this bad so soon! Might be the progesterone I suppose?

bluebird3 · 02/07/2017 15:19

That's no fun just. Fx you start feeling better soon.

Who is next up with treatment? I've lost track. Sorry!

OP posts:
justtheonethen · 02/07/2017 19:05

Hope all are well and have had nice weekends.

Yes who is next?

gee you're stimming now aren't you?

geeup · 02/07/2017 20:32

Yes it's probably me. Am stimming and expecting egg collection probably on Friday depending on scan results. Got a scan tomorrow morning so should know more then. Just hope there's a few more eggs this time ideally so we might get a few for the freezer as last time just got the one.

justtheonethen · 02/07/2017 21:42

Got everything crossed for you gee Smile

angelazul · 03/07/2017 08:16

Everything crossed that it all goes well gee

Flowers just hopefully it'll pass soon

geeup · 03/07/2017 10:27

Thanks! I had my scan - I have 7 follicles showing so I'm pretty much exactly where I was this time last cycle. Good triple layer lining over 8mm so that's fine too. Just have to keep going and expecting collection still on Friday. Would have liked more of course but the nurse said quality over quantity etc.

NoImBridgetJones · 03/07/2017 13:22

Hello all, I'm going to try to join in if that's ok..

Best of luck geeup, hope it all goes well for you.

I'm also trying to repeat quality over quantity. My IVF cycle will be starting beginning of August. It's an antagonist cycle, no pretreatment, but I have been booked in for another scan as soon as my period arrives this cycle. I have low AMH and my AFC is quite poor. The low number of follicles is suggesting my actual ovarian reserve may be even lower than my AMH indicated Sad Scan is needed to double check and for dosing, though my dr has already said I'll probs be on maximum gonal f.

I'm a bit of a mess actually. Quite frightened. I found out a few days ago that I may be the 4th generation on my maternal line with histories of menopause starting or hysterectomies in 30s. I can't believe none of them ever told me this before. My mum was on the young side of average I think... last period 47... but aunt and grandmother, great grandmother all had problems well before that. I don't understand how it's never been mentioned.

I'm 29 feeling about 102. Have I really 'left it too late' already. Sad

justtheonethen · 03/07/2017 15:28

Quality over quantity- I'm the proof that's true!

nolm my family are the same, full or partial hysterectomies by 40, it's scary but not necessarily your destiny. You're on the right track so try not to worry. Luckily we have the option of ivf which can skip over lots of issues. You will be fine. And if you're not then you adjust your journey to get to fine. It's the end point that's important, not how you get to there. To me anyway. I know that ivf with my own eggs isn't the only way to get my family. And it's a family I want, not a baby that I have carried/that comes from my egg etc as much as I do want that.

NoImBridgetJones · 04/07/2017 08:30

Thanks just. I've been swinging madly between feeling somewhat positive and utterly bereft! I'll have to keep repeating "quality over quantity" until it sinks in. I was so pleased you got your BFP, hope you're feeling well.

bluebird3 · 04/07/2017 08:43

gee good luck for Friday. Will you have another scan before?

nolm welcome. It is really scary to be faced with uncertainty but we have definitely seen quality over quantity on this thread, so make it your mantra. And at 29 you should still have time to have quite a few rounds of ivf if needed. It's ok to feel the lows but try not to stay there too long. Keep yourself busy with things you love. You'll get there!

OP posts:
geeup · 04/07/2017 08:52

Hey blue. Yep another scan tomorrow when they'll either confirm Friday and give me the trigger or they'll tell me to delay and egg collection Monday.
I'm much calmer this cycle. Just getting on with life as normal. Might even work the week after egg collection as got a few things going on. Last time I literally wrapped myself in cotton wool for the 2ww!

bluebird3 · 04/07/2017 09:15

I was the same gee. I felt much more business as usual after the second cycle and I think it helps to keep busy.

A word of warning...do not do what I just did with the pessaries. I brought one to work to put in and forgot about it in my pocket till just now. It was halfway melted. Trying to shove a half melted pessary up your hoo-ha is about as fun as it sounds! So gross!!!

blue Grin

I started a new contract the week before ivf, I work for myself but was really busy throughout. I took the day off egg collection off and that was it. Think I would have gone mad at home Confused. I was loopy enough already!

Brighteye3986 · 04/07/2017 13:45

Hi Everyone, I thought I'd join if ok...

Name: Hannah
Age: 31
TTC#1: 2 years

I am awaiting diagnosis which hopefully I will get in August but looks like I have around 23 years worth of adhesions blocking my Fallopian tubes causing my infertility. I found this out last week when having my HSG carried out. I am currently working on my weight and getting my BMI under 30 which I am hoping to achieve by m my appointment in August.

bluebird3 · 05/07/2017 08:01

Welcome bright. Glad they are getting to the bottom of what's delaying you getting pregnant. Do they know what caused the adhesions?
