Endo Scratch

Hi all, I have just started my first round of IVF and have gone for the endo scratch as well. I know there is no proof as yet that it works but I've heard some good things so thought why the hell not?!
Has anyone had this before and what was the outcome??

Yes. I have. I had an endo stratch before each of 3 unsuccessful cycles of natural IVF (no stimulating drugs). My eggs were just too knackered really. Then I had it done again before a donor egg IVF cycle which was successful. It's hard to say whether the scratch made any difference really. But when we were spending so much money it felt like we might as well spend a bit more to try to improve our odds. My lining was always good so maybe the scratch did help!

Hi Cyclehire, so glad you got there in the end! Yes my thoughts exactly.. What's £200 when you're spending £5,000?! And if I hadn't of and it failed I would only be thinking 'what if'!! Really hope all the great things I've read about it are true, but like you a lot of people say they don't know if it was the scratch that did it, but it certainly does look that way! Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I'm having donor egg ivf in June and will be having the scratch in May! I've heard such good things about it! I've never had ivf before and my Dr is really positive about the scratch helping embryos stick.

Hi ladies. I had the scratch prior to my first IVF attempt but it was a bfn. I did it as part of a trial. I'm gearing up for second ivf and my dr said she wouldn't recommend it as the only evidence of it helping is in the case of women having multiple implantation failures (as in 3+). I was relieved to not have it again as I had a bad reaction to it (Vagus nerve stimulation) and it was excruciatingly painful to the point where I fainted. They said that reaction happens to about 1 in 10. Not posting to scare anyone as it's rare but it's not a miracle fix either and there can be risks to be aware of. Yes I did hear that theory about it being for multiple failures.
I've already had mine and while it was uncomfortable and a little painful, it only lasted for 1-2 minutes!
The way I see it, the lining of the womb is the same on your 1st try as it is on your 3rd try so would work exactly the same 🤔 I'm no scientist though!

How about antibiotics and prednisone? These seem to be common additions to embryo transfer cycles too?

It worked for me with my FET in 2013 but not this time round for both my fresh cycle and FET.
