First appointment in NHS fertility clinic - what to expect?

DH and I have been TTC #1 for 18 months now. I'm 30 and he is 32.
I was diagnosed with pcos 6 years ago. I have irregular cycles and I'm pretty sure the problem is that I'm not ovulating regularly. Our GP referred us to the hospital in November and we have our first appointment in April.

DH had a semen analysis in November that was normal. I had all the usual bloods done and nothing has shown up with them.

I did manage to get bfp at the beginning this year but sadly had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks.

My BMI is high (36) but I've been working on weight loss and bringing that down, it's just a slow process for me, never been one of those people who can lose half a stone in a week.

What sort of things will happen at this initial appointment? Is there anything I should be asking about/for?

We're not entitled to IVF on the NHS as DH has a daughter from a previous relationship.

I'm trying to think back on our initial consultant appointment. From what I remember, we were given a quick run down of the IVF procedure, from start to finish, and we were given a fair amount of literature to take home and read, which I found very useful. It is quite an informal affair - we'd already decided we were keen to start IVF as soon as possible, and so we asked our consultant about expected timings and the clinic's success rates.

Hi OP, they will do their initial invesitgations whether it be bloods and scans. With your PCOS and bmi, they will probably say to lose weight. I know a few PCOS ladies who have fallen pregnant after losing weight. You'll probably be given clomid to induce ovulation and if that doesn't work it may lead to ivf. They won't put you on the list until your bmi is 29. I got there by the skin of my teeth. Good luck OP
