IVF Under 25yo? Feeling scared and confused, anyone else?

Hi all, I do not often post as I try to avoid obsessing over fertility and TTC but today I feel in need of someone to turn to...

Only TTC for 18 months, at 10 months I found out I had PCOS (completely unexpected - no symptoms at all) and after months of Metformin, followed by Clomid, my bloods showed no sign of improvement and my GP has decided to immediately refer me to a private clinic for IVF consideration and/or specialist surgeries and tests.

The prospect of IVF age 23 after 18months of ttc has totally blown me away and I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that the GP genuinely feels I may have infertility problems and need IVF as one of my last options. I have always had healthy regular periods and I had just never really considered any risk of infertility, let alone imagined I would be having IVF under 25yo. (I imagine noone does!!!)

Has anyone else had a similar experience, or can just spare a moment to tell me a little about your experience and how you have come to terms with it? I feel really down and in shock.

thanks to anyone for taking the time to reply.

Sorry I was 38 when I had mine but to be honest the feeling is partly the same. I don't think most of us ever thought of we would be doing this (my ivf wasn't due to my age, we wouldn't have conceived if I had started trying at 23 either)

But the good thing is it's supposed to work better when you are younger. I'm sorry you're going through this

Hi.
I found out at 16 I would struggle to conceive due to a pituarity gland failure therefore I do not ovulate which results in zero periods.
I got with my now fiancé at aged 20, after being together for 3 years we decided to research fertility treatment at 23, same age as you.
They referred us to a fertility clinic where we had 3 years of tests, investigations, waiting lists and cancellations - having my first IVF cycle at aged 26.
I'm newly 27 and 19 weeks pregnant with my first successful IVF cycle baby.

I wish you the best of luck. X
