Hi guys.
Any one else in the 2WW? I'm 4dp3dt and feeling ok but guessing this will change soon as I slowly go out of my mind!Confused

Hi! I'm on 2ww. I'm feeling so fed up. I'm on day 4- pregnancy test is next Thursday. Have you taken any time off work? I have a very stressful job so have taken a few days off.

gigglingbiscuit · 22/02/2017 10:29

Heya! I was signed off following EC last Thursday so back to work tomorrow. Not sure if the distraction will be good for me or if my head will be elsewhere and won't be able to focus. My job is super stressful too but hoping to dial it down somehow.

Did you have IVF or natural?

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 22/02/2017 10:45

I had ivf. I've convinced myself it's failed... are you getting any symptoms? I drive myself crazy wondering if symptoms are due to progesterone or pregnancy. It's a nightmare.

gigglingbiscuit · 22/02/2017 11:11

Me too! Keep trying to tell myself this is just a trial run (this is our first round) but I know I'll be so upset if it doesn't work.
I had mild cramps and super sore nips but now nothing! I thought symptoms were supposed to increase not decrease :-/
I wish I had never read about the dreaded 2WW- I might have been more positive?
How are you keeping yourself distracted/ busy?

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 22/02/2017 11:17

I'm exactly the same! My symptoms definitely seem to be reducing. Do many of your friends/ family know what you are going through? I've told people about ivf but no-one (except husband ) knows we are on 2ww. Just feels like a lot of pressure if other people know.

I have been out for lunch a few times...not much else. How much are you doing? My clinic really emphasised that I shouldn't do too much...I'm really worried about over doing it.

gigglingbiscuit · 22/02/2017 12:08

All of our close friends and family know- we are both terrible liars and we're struggling to make up excuse after excuse as to why I wasn't drinking etc, 2 came over and saw all our paperwork out. Another saw my injection sites etc. It has been a great support tbh BUT I am really really regretting it now because it if doesn't work how will I tell them? I'm tempted to send out a PA to say 'unless you hear otherwise assume that we are not and I don't wanna talk about it'. Not sure how that'll go down though!

Been binging on Netflix to keep me occupied- currently The People vs OJ Simpson

Screamifuwant2gofaster · 22/02/2017 12:45

Are you working on the day you are doing pregnancy test? I am. Gonna be tough if it's bad news. This really feels like some of the longest days of my life. In some ways injections were easier.

gigglingbiscuit · 22/02/2017 12:52

It's so weird isn't it- you have all these jabs, appointments then ... nothing, and told to relax haha!

My text is a Saturday so no work for me thank god. Will you do it in the morning or evening? Fingers crossed for you lovely

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 22/02/2017 16:47

I'm doing the test in the morning. Can't believe it's another 7 days until my test. :-(.

gigglingbiscuit · 22/02/2017 17:24

You're a few days ahead of me- keep in touch with symptoms etc! X

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 22/02/2017 17:33

Will do! Thanks.

Screamifuwant2gofaster · 23/02/2017 17:28

How are you getting on today? Apart from feeling fed up I'm not getting any symptoms. Worried this might be a bad sign...

Chattycat78 · 23/02/2017 17:59

Just lurking. Don't think no signs mean it's failed. I did ivf in 2014, and I told DH the day before the test that I didn't feel any different. I was convinced it had failed. My little boy from that is now 2 years old.

For what it's worth I booked the day off for the pregnancy test, so did DH. The plan was to get wasted if it hadn't worked.

Screamifuwant2gofaster · 23/02/2017 20:09

Thanks Chattycat. That's so helpful. X

gigglingbiscuit · 23/02/2017 21:22

Thanks chattycat! I've got like a low stitch today but probably just trapped wind lol

Hi!! I'm 2dp5dt with my first round of ICSI. My OTD is next Friday...my birthday. I don't know how I'm going to make it through another week of waiting!! I have so many symptoms from the progesterone. ITs good in a way because I know I can't symptom spot since they always started before the et.

gigglingbiscuit · 24/02/2017 08:29

Hey bluebird! Congratulations on starting your first round. Looks like our OTDs are all around the same time- I really hope it works for all of us.
I had blood on the tissue when I went to pee last night but nothing his morning. Don't want read too much into it though.

Has anyone had fertility counselling as part of their treatment?

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 24/02/2017 08:37

Hi bluebird!

Fingers crossed we all get good news. I've not had any fertility counselling...have you? I would definitely consider it if I end up having several rounds/ivf fails.

Today my nippers are really sore but nothing else. A tiny bit of bleeding sounds like a possible good sign, doesn't it?
Really we just won't know until we test. I do not know how I'm going to get through the next week. I'm so distracted and can't be bothered doing anything.

bluebird3 · 24/02/2017 09:36

blood on the tissue does sound a good sign but I know what you mean about not wanting to read too much into anything. How all are you two feeling? I'm so bloated and uncomfortable. I wish I get normal soon could have some chance at forgetting about it for awhile. It's a constant reminder! Are you on your first cycles?

I haven't had any counselling, but had a massive break down the morning of transfer. I had 18 eggs collected. Of those 11 were able to be injected and then 9 fertilised. All 9 were still developing when they rang Monday, so I was really hopeful I'd have some to freeze. When they called on Wednesday, the day of transfer I only had 1 to transfer and none to freeze. I took it really hard as everything had been going so well. It did make me think that if this one fails maybe I should have counselling.

gigglingbiscuit · 24/02/2017 10:10

Oh bluebird I totally understand your upset- it's so hard isn't it!

DH and I had our first over the phone counselling this morning and it was AMAZING! I would really recommend it to you guys for before POAS! She was so lovely and validated all our feelings, fear, excitement etc but ask gave great practical advice too like settling plans for test day, what we're going to do if it's negative, if it's positive as well as if we don't even make it to OTD.
If your clinic offers it you have nothing to lose tbh x

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 24/02/2017 11:04

Yeah- I can really understand your upset.
Hope you are feeling better now.

I'm on my first cycle. I'm not bloated...some days I feel absolutely normal (apart from feeling depressed). Feeling normal scares me- I feel like I'd have some symptoms if it had worked. Who knows though! Are you following a special diet at all?

ShaunTgirl · 24/02/2017 15:39

Hi, can I join in also?
I am 6dp5dt. This is my 5th IVF and trying best to not over do it but keeping busy (mind at least) until next Saturday for testing.
I am having no symptoms at all, not even from hormones. Had hoped for at least a tender boob!

Welcome shaunT! You just made me really chuckle- never thought I would actually WANT a sore boob, stomach cramps and bloating - us IVFers are an odd bunch aren't we!

I really to think (with the sensible side of my head) that symptoms, or lack of really aren't an inductor of anything- you see successes with both experiences x

OP posts:
Screamifuwant2gofaster · 24/02/2017 16:38

Hi ShaunT!

It is so true how this is the one time in my life I want to feel a bit nauseous, achy etc. I agree, we don't know anything until we test.
These are the slowest weeks in my life.

bluebird3 · 24/02/2017 22:32

Hi ShaunT! I agree...I would love a few symptoms or a small implantation bleed right now! I have not felt myself since ec so not even sure what would be a symptom at this point. Just trying to get through one day at a time and not spend every single waking second thinking about whether I'm pregnant or my embryo has already exited the building! The only thing that can distract me is eating something with loads of cheese...garlic bread, pizza, nachos...then I'm in my happy place. Grin
