Transfer was yesterday..should I take tomorrow off?

Help!

I had an embryo transfer yesterday and only had egg retrieval on Wednesday. I'm feeling quite tired and sore still, which I know from previous cycles is the norm.

However, I'm not sure wether to take another day to rest tomorrow or go to work....?

I'm torn really, as if I do take tomorrow off my DC are off also (inset day) and being a teacher will obviously cause cover (the school are unaware of the IVF)...?

If I go in, I'm worried that it's not giving these embies a chance and I'll be exhausted by the end of the week.

What would you advise?

Hi Thirdeye,

I'm also a teacher and totally understand your dilemma. I had 3 day transfer 2 weeks ago today, I took the Monday off and went back the Tuesday, but only because I knew we had 2 short weeks with I service days. I carried on going in because I know how hard it is to get supply. The only advice I can give is listen to your body. I'm lucky that I work in a small school and people there know about the IVF and are really supportive. I have developed OHSS so am now off for at least this week. It was hard being in work because I teach the little ones so found being active all day very tiring. Would you consider telling management in your school? The management in my school have said it's ok to take things easy in class during the two weeks as there are a few challenging children, they totally understand me leaving at 3.30 too, it has definitely been easier with them knowing.

Thank you for replying shell Smile

I decided to take today off. DH took our daughter out yesterday and even though I rested, I still felt exhausted. I'll probably go in tomorrow...as I teach children that will shortly be doing exams!

I hope you OHSS improves Flowers

That sounds like a good plan. Just remember to take it easy! Good luck for you 2WW and for the exams!
