Hi bunnyd

I am now awaiting my next cycle as due to waiting for a package deal it meant missing this cycle , however I would love a buddy albeit 4 weeks ahead of me x

Hi Dildoos

Yay let's be buddies. I haven't told many people about doing this so feel like I need to share the exact details!

I'm 41 and we've been ttc for 18 months. All tests we've had have come back fine so it seems the problem is just my eggs being a bit old and tough! So we're doing short protocol with icsi.

What about you?

Bunnyd,

It's very very exciting to share steps , feelings , frustrations and excitement !

Well about me, I'm 36 I have a DD aged almost 9 (j have been blessed with her) from a previous marriage.
My dp and I (non bio daddy of daughter) have been trying 6 years. I've had 13 mc and I have high NK cell activity. We have now had further testing and I have he low side of normal AMH 6.5 to be precise so now attempting IVF in hope of a small miracle.
Although I sound like a lost cause I feel very positive as something we've never tried.

So pleased to be going through it with someone else first time around.

bunnyd12 · 15/01/2017 19:15

My AMH is 6.2! No matter, there are eggs in there and IVF works for people with stats like ours!

Day 2 of injections and no side effects yet so fingers crossed that will continue. I'm back at the clinic on Wednesday to see how my follicles are getting on Grin

Bunny we are so similar!!! That's fab for us to compare.
Hope your follicles are coming along nicely keep Me informed.
When I had hycosy which was day 17 I had 14 follicles which was smack bang average so I was happy with that.
Consultant would've liked more but I think they always do , but normal was good for
Me mentally I felt.
Did you have a hycosy? X

Report
bunnyd12 · 16/01/2017 22:47

I've not heard of hycosy! I've had three scans of my ovaries though and each time there's been around nine. I'm hoping there is this time and if half of those produce good eggs and half of those fertilise then I've got two embryos 😬 I don't know if you've noticed yet but I'm a natural optimist haha

Do you have a predicted start date yet btw? x

Bunnyd optimism is the best way forward me too!
Hycosy is a scan where the send dye up your tubes to check for damage/scarring and blockages . I think with the history of mc and that j had c-section he wanted to check I'm all ok in that region whilst there he done some follicle counting 😊

So I was to start last Friday but my finances weren't in place as we are going for a 'package ' deal ( sounds like I'm going on holiday ). So this has delayed me by a cycle and I feel really impatient even though actually a month isn't long when we've been trying so long but I do feel impatient right now 😏
So my date to go for my drug collection and my teaching of injection is now 9th Feb.

9 follicles is still in normal range from what I was told so that's fabulous given our AMH levels , my theory is surely they can't expect loads of follicles with lower eggs ? I am keeping everything crossed for some big bad boy embryos for you.

Are you having blastocyst? X

Report
bunnyd12 · 17/01/2017 07:46

Hopefully I will get some embryos that make it to the blastocyst stage, I think that's the ideal isn't it? The clinic I'm will will leave then to that stage if they can. We're having ICSI due to my age. Just done my last injection of bemfola. Next scan tomorrow morning. I'm willing follicles to grow big haha xx

Oh wow, I know nothing but positive first times on icsi, I asked but they won't try until I've tried one of IVF as have to have a reasoning and because I was below 40 I couldn't until tried IVF once.
I will send prayers up for your follicles x

hey ladies - I'm just about to start my first IVF cycle, I'm currently researching drug prices, ready to start sniffing next week :)

We have a 5yr old daughter, and we've been trying for a sibling since she was 5 months old, - we've been 'gifted' two IVF cycles by my very generous grandmothers, and I'm mostly terrified, but relieved to be able to speak to others in the same boat.

xx

Hi pink momma,
How exciting for you too. yes he drug works seems so huge. I am going to just pay through clinic as the sourcing and getting prescription emailed all seemed like a whole host of stress for me so just going to take their prices. You'd think they would just make all a standard cost. X

Report
pinkmomma · 17/01/2017 14:42

hey didoos

I know what you mean, part of me is tempted to pay the extra and just order the drugs from the clinic, as I don't want the added stress of sorting that out too, it's only around £80 more than the others quotes I've had. I keep seeing people saying they shopped around and saved hundreds, but the quotes I've had don't seem to differ that much.

Report
dildoos · 17/01/2017 14:56

Agree pink momma, I can't find where the hundreds is to be saved, but i know my consultant said avoid getting from abroad so wondering if this is where the savings are but then not 100% your getting what you actually hunk your getting? I agree £80 saving and the stress of sourcing may not be worth it. If you were looking at £500 most def I'd give it a go 😂 I mean that's a decent spa day 😉

Hello Everyone! I'm 34 (turning 35 in March).. We have been trying for a baby for over 2 years and inspite of 7 cycles of Clomid, we were not successful... I am also on my first IVF journey.. Today, I just got sent my package with all the medications. I looked for this forum cause it would be great to know others experiences who are at the same stage as myself. Goodluck to all of us.

I've never heard of shopping around for your own drugs. I thought you just sign up to a clinic and get everything. I obviously didn't do my research as thoroughly as I thought! Are you all in the uk?

Hi bunny , yes you can shop around my consultant advised we could but to be careful and not recommended to purchase from abroad. I'm in uk.
From what I've looked up like pink momma not huge huge savings from what I've seen to date so decided for me clinic was less stressful.
How you doing today ?

Where are you all based? I'm near Oxford and am going with Oxford Fertility. I know other clinic are cheaper, but I didn't want to have to travel too far for scans and check ups xx

I'm in Norwich, we have a branch (?) of the bourn hall clinic 10 miles from our home, I ised to be under dr Shehata , Harley street which became a real effort for any appointments and he wasn't too pro IVF for us as I have high NK cell activity but given the treatment I had for 2 years there didn't help I just felt lets go see bourn hall and put consultant said why don't we try as they can make my body do what it needs at each step. So here I am ☺️

I'm being treated at herts & Essex fertility which is about 40 mins drive from where I live. It has good results for both icsi and over 40s 😬

It's tricky with all the appointments when working full time. All the nosy women at work keep asking me why I'm taking half days off work or getting in late. Apparently they were discussing the possibility that I'm pregnant and going for check ups and scans! Hopefully I soon will be. I work at the same company as my bf so that just makes the gossip worse! How are you guys going to deal with it? xx

Bunny, yes I imagine tongues are wagging especially amongst women, we are a nosey breed really, however, we on the infertility threads tend to be more sensitive to others in the pregnancy gossip department I find.
I am a childminder so I don't work with adults but 'for'adults , however parents don't question days off as I make them school related appointments and also she has had assessments recently as she has special needs and I've tried to coincide appointments.
However on the day of embryo transfer if it moves in days I'm not sure what to do as hoped My friend who is training at mo to become my partner would've been ofsted checked by this point but unfortunately not.

So difficult all the secrets!

X

Hi Dildoos, my meds were sent yesterday but my teach appointment is on Wednesday next week... The nurses probably sent it so I have the meds immediately. I think I meant to start next month. I need to wait for my period. I am excited to know how it will be done. I am based in Manchester and I go to St. Mary's Clinic.Smile Is there anyone else from Manchester here? What clinic do you go to?

Hiya

Had another scan today and have at least seven follicles getting bigger at the moment. Happy that is fairly good for my age! Two different injections every day now. Merional and Cetrotide. The Cetrotide feels like a gnat bite! Next appt Monday morning.

I can't wait for you to start and catch me up haha xx
