Clomid - ovulation day and follicle size!

Just after some advice if anyone can help.

Im on my 2nd cycle of clomid this month. Both cycles 50mg days 5-9. I ovulate on my own normally, but as my cycle is any where from 26-30 days, my FS thought clomid would help to regulate it.

First cycle, on CD12 I had only one follicle that was 12mm, on CD14 there had been no growth and I ovulated that same day.

Today is CD12, I had a scan today which showed 2x12mm follicles on one side and 1x16mm follicle on the other side. Having ovulation pain today so will likely ovulate tomorrow.

So - is it normal to ovulate CD13-14 on clomid? And, are these follicle sizes too small for there to be any chance of getting pregnant?

The FS actually told me to go back Monday for another scan, as if the follicles all mature we wouldnt be able to proceed with the cycle, but I will have ovulated by then!

Any advice or stories would be appreciated!

Hello,

I can't help too much but your first cycle doesn't sound like the follicles grew big enough, however your second cycle sounds more promising. I was told the follicles need to be 18mm or bigger to release an egg. Fingers crossed for you.

I have just started my second round of Clomid.

Xxx

User I was in exactly the same place last month - only one lead folly at 11mm and ovulated that same day. On second cycle with clomid at the moment and scan due wed so really hoping for some bigger ones! Let me know how you get on!

What LittleFox said. I was told it needs to be 18mm to ovulate, seems like there not maturing. Which mean you can still ovulate and release the egg, but it may not be big enough to implant. I had good follicle sizes on both rounds of clomid (though like you I ovulate on my own) but never had any luck.
Hope you have more luck than I did with it Smile

Had another scan today and none of the follicles have grown at all :( plus I havnt ovulated yet which is unusual for me on day 15. She said there's not much chance this month as the follicles are unlikely to grow now.

So increasing the clomid next month to 100mg, if that doesn't work then we'all try femara the next month.

Feeling so down and frustrated :(
