Just wondering how you managed with appointments and medications while it's not half term/six weeks holidays?

Me! My boss has been very understanding and has let me leave lessons early to attend scans etc when it has been unavoidable to do it at other times.
At first I hid IVF from work but it became too difficult to juggle. Now they know, they are very understanding and accommodating; although I'm sure not all places are like that.
I also asked for the fertility treatment policy- which entitles me to 10 paid working days off across 3 IVF attempts so that was worth finding out about! And taking advantage of when needed.
Could you do the same?

What hours do you work Rosebud? What age do you teach? And how is your IVF going?

Me!

Oh wow a fertility treatment policy! Would everywhere have one?
My head and deputy head know and they are being amazing... Getting me cover for appts and they have said just to let them know what days I need off completely nearer time.
How are you both?

Freezing I teach 16 to 19 year olds in a college. I teach classes between 9am and 4:30pm but often need to stay on later than that for meetings and managerial responsibilities.
In terms of IVF we have had one fresh cycle in Czech Republic (we are not entitled to NHS treatment as DH has children from a previous relationship) in January where I took 6 consecutive working days off (as part of the policy) That gave us 6 blasts. One was transferred and 5 were frozen.
I had an early MC at 5 weeks after the fresh cycle. I continued to work and act like nothing had happened; which I don't advise! It really screwed me up emotionally.
Then in May we went to Czech again for a FET. This happened to fall in May half term. This time I had an MMC and had an ERPC at 8+1. I didn't keep it a secret the second time and was signed off work for 2 weeks.
We are looking to do a double transfer FET in Oct and are hoping it will coincide with the half term again.
How about you? What's your story and plan?

Elles Hi! Am I right in thinking we were on the PCOS conception thread agggggges ago together?!

The only reason I thought to ask my employer about a policy is because my DH works for a global company and he was told they had an excellent policy (which it really is!- 12 days off paid A YEAR even as the male! Very unusual) I don't think everywhere does have a specific policy for infertility but they should have some sort of "leave of absence" policy which covers the odd day off for a hospital visit etc.
That's great that your school are so supportive- makes life a whole lot easier doesn't it?
Whereabouts are you in the process?

I used to do the appointments at 7.30 am and get to school on time and never told a soul!
