Are you Barren & Bored? You've come to the right place!

We do: swearing, empathy, bitterness, tears, sardonic laughter, glittery shit and mocking idiots who know nothing jon snow.

We don't do: baby dust, relentless positivity, "u ok hun", "I had a friend who..", pithy advice or sentimentality generally.

Previous threads 1 and 2.

Now that you've got all that down, welcome to the barren ghetto.

Bugger I bollocked up the 2nd link. I've reported to MN to see if they can fix it for me...?! What an arse.

Had to start volume 3 because Ugh ugh ugh i've just gone onto HFEA website and looking at STATISTICS which are not my friend, as of course FET successes are slightly worse than fresh cycle. OHSS has gone down hugely, can walk again etc... chances of convincing them to put one back?! I wonder how many desperate swivel eyed mental IVFers they have coming in and making demands [hyperventilates into paper bag]

Glad you are feeling better icy. Was it a def freeze all or a we will review? I thought some clinics now favoured frozen as better outcomes as can focus on lining etc?

Thanks for starting the new thread, icy. Glad you can walk again. Hope you enjoyed that wine.

I haven't felt up to facing the world (real or virtual) until now. None of our four made it to blast stage. Two were put back, the other two arrested yesterday. At transfer the doctor said it was "a bit disappointing" but there was still hope, but the embryologist's grim / sympathy face said it all, really. I was / am devastated. If I couldn't get pregnant from C graders (cycles 1 and 3) or an A grader (cycle 2), what hope for these.

I can't help but feel it's all over. Fuck this. Urgh. Sorry to clog up the new thread with my bitter tears.

Having to do actual work today, ffs, so will come back later and be properly mind-numbingly bored.

Icy, pepper, hang in there. Pepper, take some time to look after yourself and feel whatever you need to. Always here for a bitter rant if that helps.

Pepper so sorry to hear that. I guess I'm in that boat. It's bloody frustrating isn't it? I feel angry that I think it's all over but I still have to take the bloody pessaries and not drink but for what point?

icy loads of Drs say that in the future ALL transfers will be frozen, because the uterine environment is less disrupted by unnaturally high levels of hormones following stims - especially in the case of high responders

www.independent.co.uk/news/science/frozen-embryos-increase-chance-of-successful-ivf-pregnancy-8102875.html

FET is a great option. We are doing elective FET (so that we can have PGS) and work on my lining - with freezing technology being so good now, there's no real difference between a frozen embryo and a fresh

And thanks for starting the new thread - loving Barren and Bored!

pepper big hugs - I hope the two give you a lovely surprise

Christ my ovaries ache. Going to have to wedge me through the turnstile at Wembley tomorrow at the rate I'm expanding...

Thanks Grumpel.

Yes, bean, it's not being able to quite grieve yet. It's having that bit of hope and knowing DH has that bit of hope and having to do the test and see it drain out of his face.

And yes, that fucking cyclogest. The poo ceasing little fucks.

hugs to you and the other ladies.

Icy don't panic. My consultant also said he thinks no one will be doing fresh transfers in a few years time! Xx

icy thanks for starting the new thread.
Bean how you feeling today?

I'm on day 3 of ET. Currently experiencing faint sort of pulling on the cervix. Hard to explain but feels a little like there's a led weight on it so fretting AF is going to show!

Hey karla. Still feeling like period will appear at any moment but had a lovely day of a lie in a lazing on the sofa watching trashy Netflix. Debating when to test (which is daft because I think it's failed and I've been emailing other clinics!)

Hang in there fiends.

Report
Vixxfacee · 20/05/2016 20:23

Good luck Karla, pulling is a good sign.
Bean how many days post transfer are you?

beanhunter · 20/05/2016 20:31

When are you testing?

Report
beanhunter · 20/05/2016 21:12

Technically Tuesday....

Report
Vixxfacee · 20/05/2016 21:52

We have the same OTD I'm having a blood test Tuesday too!

Report
bananafish81 · 20/05/2016 21:57

I had crampy pulling around 4-5dp5dt. Felt very periody. Assumed it was the progesterone tricking me or AF on its way. Turned out it was mythical implantation cramping after all!!

Report
beanhunter · 20/05/2016 22:17

When was your transfer vix? Have you already tested? Mine is only a urine test. Not really holding out any hope as embryos were v poor quality.

Report
Vixxfacee · 20/05/2016 22:23

My transfer was on the 10th. I tested 6dp as I had spotting.

Don't give up hope, don't count yourself out yet..how comes they aren't doing a blood test?

Report
Vixxfacee · 20/05/2016 22:23

Banana I have read and heard from different people that the feeling of AF coming is a good sign.

vixx my Dr only did a blood test upon a positive HPT - I know other clinics just book you in for a viability scan if you've done a urine test. I had 2 hCG tests 48h apart to look for rate of doubling - OTD was a ridiculous 12dp5dt, but I tested at 8dp5dt, and they got me in for a blood test the following day once I fessed up!

Report
Vixxfacee · 20/05/2016 23:03

They all have their own procedures and test dates then it seems. I read alot about the testing if levels are doubling but thought it was more an American thing.
